Progression for Spectra! 2014 Ghost.

Two questions

1) Spec hasn't gained any weight. She is still 14 grams. She lost a little (dropped to 13 grams) in the travel here but picked it back up right away but hasn't gained more. Is that normal?

2) while I was feeding tonight she picked up the pinkie right away and hind end first and the front leg of the pinkie got pushed up and Spec spent about five minutes trying to manipulate the arm in the side of her mouth. I finally intervened and pulled the arm off the pinkie. She picked it back up and ate it no problem. Is that what I should have done or was that the wrong thing to do? Should I have just left her?

Thanks Albertagirl!! I love her little spots too! She has such a sweet personality, I absolutely adore her. She's a sweetheart. Here's a couple more photos of her! I just absolutely adore her! She's my little baby :)

Whatcha doin' mom?

She's going to be such a gorgeous snake!! I'm so excited :D My only wish is that there were more snake people around here. Feel like I'm in the middle of nowhere and closed off to all the fun and exciting lol. Sucks to be the one that's the most excited about my babies and not many around here share or care about my enthusiasm.

Had to post some photos of the shiny Spec after her shed. Her yellow is pretty bright after this shed. One side seems brighter then the other. She's such a gorgeous snake and has a wonderful personality!!

She's beautiful!!!

I know how you feel about the isolation thing lol I live near 3 big cities and haven't really found any herp groups or anything.... My co workers screech at the mention of a snake, and one of them nearly fainted when I mentioned that the frozen mice have to be kept in the freezer... I hope to come across some people in my area soon lol

Thank you! And the closest one to me is 6 hours away, in Denver. I wish I could afford to make the trip down there next weekend!! I have one coworker that enjoyed them and it was pretty cool to share them with her. Wish there were more people in my life that shared the enjoyment of them. We have a fantastic civic center here, need to convince an expo to come here lol

My big girl Spec (who is now 22 grams, she seems so huge compared to when I first got her, crazy how a few grams makes a huge difference) is in blue and going to shed again! I can't wait to see what this shed brings. I'm thinking her yellow is going to come out so much more this time and I can't wait to see. She's really grown. Here are a few photos of her I took tonight.

She is! She really jumped this last week. Gained a whole 4 grams. Might change though since she's going into blue, but who knows. I can't wait til she sheds!

Went in to see is Spec was out and about (love watching her explore her viv) and this is how I found her. I have checked and double checked to see if there was the tiniest crack she could possibly get out of and found nothing but man they do do everything to try and be an escape artist.

my Snickerdoodle used to do this all the time when she was just a baby...and when she could fit.

and even tried when she couldnt fit...then id hear a crash in the middle of the night an she'd just look at me and stare...
crazy snake

Lmao! Spec doesn't do it as often anymore, but once in a while she'll be there and when I lift the lid she'll fall out.

Flamekitty, your snake is probably staring at you saying "you didn't see that", trying to hypnotize you like Kaa lol.

Here's a photo that I thought was really neat since she's blue. Her eyes look crazy lol.

she just went clear yesterday morning so hopefully I get to hold her tonight!

Beautiful ghost!! <3 and that blue is an annoying thing.. Im waiting for SOMEONE to get out of hers so we can go back to cuddling!! between eating and shedding you loose quite some cuddle time!!

My two, so far, shed really quickly. Hades shed cycle was about 4-5 days and Spec's is maybe 5-6. I have no idea how I missed Spec's last shed, she feels totally different and stuff but I missed it. I just figured it was because she was so light colored. But with her being in blue this time I just don't see how I missed it. It's still very noticeable. I do know now that she really changes in feel. I can't wait to see her all gorgeous and shiny after she sheds.

Your Snickerdoodle is really pretty flamekitty. Very large compaired to both of mine lol. Mine are both 2014 hatchlings though. Still have growing to do.

Thanks Ravenessa. She's a half sister to your Avalon. I also got her from Tavia. And I totally agree with your other thread, her snakes are amazing!! I absolutely love both of mine, and their differences, so much. Spec has never rattled her tail at me, and she is super chill. Hades is more fiesty, but I really love that about him. I love that they have personalities.
