Progression thread: Tango the Cayenne Fire

Lol. So true!

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but...

I was just looking at your list of snakes and figured out your naming scheme. London threw me off but the rest are the phonetic alphabet! Great names!

I haven't said so because I missed it at the time, but I do hope Whiskey turns up. My heart is with you and has been from the moment I realized.

She came from the UK, so I used the old RAF phonetic alphabet. I have another hatchling also coming from the UK soon who will get a similar name.

My boyfriend works for the USAF (civilian). Before we met, he named the three kittens he rescued Oscar, Victor, and Echo. Of course I had to follow suit!

Very nice. I only know the phonetic alphabet we use here. About 30 years ago I had to learn it over lunch for Civil Air Patrol. :) It certainly makes for great names. Tango fits his name to a "t" (pun intended).

Chunky butt.

Why am I so terrified to bump this guy to hoppers?? Delta has been eating them since 70g, but he just takes so long to swallow a large fuzzy... Yesterday after taking this I gave him a fuzzy and a pinky. Ugh.

Lol. My Cleo is about 10 grams behind him. Sometimes I think he should have been named Neon or Dayglo. His color is nothing short of amazing!

I wanted to name him Ember, but Kyle thought it sounded too feminine. At one point I was going to get a female instead of male and had almost settled on Phoenix. After all the fuss over naming him I finally decided it was easier to continue the naming convention he started with the 3 kittens he rescued: Oscar, Echo, and Victor! We've been talking about switching to non-phonetic-alphabet names lately. If London's one good egg hatches out healthy and is female, she will be a hold back and we will probably name her Elspeth after a Magic: The Gathering character.

I was really saying it tongue in cheek as a compliment on his color. Tango is the perfect name for him. You are very skilled at naming, that's for sure! His color is beyond stunning.

I certainly am praying that London's egg produces a healthy hatching. Elspeth is a beautiful name.

Decided to try some before and after shots while chilling with Tango on the couch today. So weird seeing the difference in color and size! My phone's camera gets weird and turns everything yellow sometimes so these came out super orange.

He sat like this for a good 2 minutes. I was worried he was pooping, but nope!

Many people think all diffused corns have a red wash on the last 2/3 of their body, but Tango apparently doesn't.

Oh that's awesome. What a great milestone.

This little ham is getting more wiggly with age. 170g and always ready to eat, I'm hoping he'll be able to woo the ladies this spring and make lots of little red factor babies. If anyone is interested in some cayenne-line project animals, I'll hopefully have plenty to go around next year.

Peeking out at my hands last night, inspecting them for edibility:

Begging for more food after having JUST eaten:
