question about tank Stands

Hello,

I now have 2 snakes, a 6 month old Corn snake and a slightly older ball python. right now they are in their tanks, I have a 2 tanks, both 20 longs. (i also have a 40br for future use, and right now they are on the ground which i hate.

I need to find some sort of low table top, or cabinet, i dont know what. i dont really want to buy 2 seperate aquarium stands, i would rather try and find something that is one long untit maybe, maybe even have them one over the other. i checked ikea but didnt see much, do you all have any recomendations for tank stands? I cant even think the terms to search under with craigslist, im not much of a furniture guy, what would something like be called? an end table?

im new at all of this when it comes to snakes as you can tell im sure, just looking for any ideas that i have most likely not thought of ! I dont care if its used, new, even something i have to put together myself, but i dont have the means to fabricate something out of wood or anything. just basic assembly.

Thanks !

David

Are you opposed to an actual aquarium stand, or are you looking for something more decorative? The wrought-iron aquarium stands can hold two tanks. If you want to try Craigslist, try looking under furniture. There are all kinds of sub-catagories; try coffee tables, bookcases, and entertainment centers. You can also try the pet section, and see if there are any aquarium stands you may like.

Good luck!

Kathy

We use these metal racks for our glass tanks, they work pretty good. You can sometimes get the smaller ones at Costco for around $35 and the large ones for around $65. You can also get them at Lowe's, Home Depot, but they are more expensive there. Sometimes stores like Walmart, Target, etc. but the first three places are your best bet.
The small ones can hold as many as 4 20l gallon tanks and the big ones can hold several 40 gallon ones.

Im open to anything really, just didnt want to pay the higher dollars for an offical "Aquarium stand" some of them are cheaply built too. but i really like that rack idea you have there !! that is a great solution !
I will be looking into those this weekend !

Your Reptile room is awesome , very impressed ! its nice and orderly, not all cluttered and super miss matched, it all fits nicely together, very cool !
thanks for the info everyone!

OMG! Thanks Tavia! I am going to do that! I have an aquarium stand and it's just too woobly and I worry about an earthquake or my dogs knocking it over

The racks we got at Costco are heavier duty than the ones from Lowe's, though they are the same size, and much sturdier, so if possible, I'd suggest getting them from there. However, our Costco doesn't always have them in stock.

Thanks! That picture is old, from just after we moved into the house in 2012. The reptile room had gotten really bad the last couple months, looked like the room vomited, but over Christmas my husband helped get it back into shape. Wouldn't be as embarrassed to have people see it now, although there's still lots to do in there. But then, there always is!

Here are some new pictures from just a few minutes ago.

I make jewelry, human and for collectible dolls. That's what's up with the dolls in the cabinet. They are in the cat free zone, as I'd have to kill the evil little gits if they destroyed my $70 each models! Talk about silly passions ...

haha thanks for explainging the dolls and your jewerly business, otherwise that would have been a BIT creepy !! lol

I always find it funny, that people think I'm the weird one for liking/spending money on snakes of all things but there are a surprisingly large number of adults out there, the greater number of them men, who will spend insane amounts of money on these collectible dolls! It's all good though, helps pay for my weird vice ...
