Question for people in Britain

Plissken

Crazy Snail Lady
Hi everyone,

I hear that water straight from the tap is bad for corns to drink, so I'm planning to use bottled water for my first corn, but my problem is that I don't know what brand / type of water to use. I have examined the labels on some, Volvic etc, but I don't honestly know what I'm looking for. I can't tell if that water is safe or not.

I live in England, so only brands available in Britain please, could you tell me what water you use? Or if you don't use bottled water, at least reccommend one or tell me what I should be looking for?

Thanks!

hello.i live in portsmouth,england
i have asked this a few times to people.
i use normal tap water.if you live in a hard water area it mite be worth using bottled water or use a water filter.
but i would use tap water unless your water is chalky and milky looking.

hello i live in kent and i also use tap water and have had no probs so far i think unless your tap water is really bad bottled water would just be for pop star corns with to much money ha ha :) in the wild i dont think they would have access to bottled water hope that helps

normal tap water should be fine let the tap run for 10 seconds to let all the S***e run out and then fill the dish

One solution if you're worried about the tap water is to get something to treat the water with, you can usually find something at your local pet store, I use a calcamizer which neutralizes the chlorine and adds calcium which snakes often have a hard time getting enough of.

Oh, so tap water is okay? Great, thanks. I live in Kent also so if your water is okay mine should be ;)

Thanks for your replies!

I live in Dorset (some of the hardest tap water in the country) and all mine have been raised on tap water. My 19 year old hasn't complained so far!

15 years using tap water (Scottish tap water that is) and no problems for me.

I do always run the tap for 10-15 seconds first to clear any standing water in the pipes.

Correct.

It's just the ruder version of poo with an 'e' on the end.

We don't always say it with an e you know...
But that's beside the point :p

Back on topic ; Thanks for your help on the water issue. Reckon I'll stick to tap water then.

What do corn snakes drink in the wild? Minging dirty water from puddles/rivers etc. I think tap water will do no harm at all, unless in extreme circumstances.

To your only nightmare...

...You put on your signature that you always do typos, why not just check your spelling, grammar, etc before submitting, or are you too lazy. It's really annoying when trying to read someone's message and they haven't taken the time to write with correct and legible grammar (very simple grammar...).
