Took Zayne out cruising last night, hoping to find some rubber boas. We found two, but one of them I drove past, and it was gone before I got turned around and back to it. It may not have been a rubber boa, but the area we were in has more rubber boas than anything else, and I've found quite a few there, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume...
Managed to get some decent shots of a Desert Nightsnake, too...
I knew this was a rubber boa before I even stopped the car. As well, traffic was non-existent last night, and it was on one of the few long, straight sections of this road, so we were able to let Zayne do the whole capture and release all by herself. Usually, I grab them up out of the road and bring them to her near the car, but last night, she got out of the car, walked up to it, identified it as a rubber boa, picked it up and held it for pictures. She then walked over the side of the road, found a nice section of soft ground with bushes and rocks, and let her go. It was awesome to watch!
Further down the road I found a Desert Nightsnake and managed to get a couple decent pictures. Better than the last pictures of a nightsnake that I posted, so...here ya' go!
Thanks for Looking!!
