I finally had my first "un-accidental" wild snake encounter! This little guy was soaking up the rays in the middle of the path...2 more steps and I probably would have squished him. He looked very healthy and was about 16-18 inches long.

I also found the bluest robin's egg I have ever seen. Sadly, the strong winds had blown it out of the nest.

my mom has a lady robins nest here in one of her bushes. we see her on her eggs every year but the eggs never get to hatch. the neighbors let their damn cats out and they always end up killing the eggs and the nest too. if im here next year they might be missing a couple cats if i catch them in the act. lol. jk.
