Quick Question on the girth of adult corns?

Ghost

Anyone tell me an approximation on the adult girth or just how big around an adult corn will get? I know it's nothing like a ball python now or anything lol Could the circumference be compared to that of a toilet paper roll (without the tissue on it)? Or paper towel roll perhaps?

around 40" and female, then i have one other female that is 1 1/2" in girth that is 35", both are breeders.

oh i also caught and have seen a 3" and 4" females the 4" was totally gravid but got hit and killed by a car 2 minutes before i got there.

I see!

I was expecting you to say male lol
I didn't think females became so large!

That is so sad about the one that got hit by a car.
I think there should be underpasses for animals at most road ways.

My snake is only 2 feet or so and is about 1 1/2 centimeters in girth. Not sure of the sex. Told female but looks to be male.

I'm just bringing this back up rather than starting a new topic. A bit worried about Snakes girth.

Just measured her to see what size food I should be feeding her, at the thickest point she's around 3" and roughly 40" long. Haven't weighed her for the last couple months, last I remember she was a little over 300g, I'll weigh her again tommorow and pop it up here.

Final note, right now I'm feeding her every 7 - 10 days.

Just wondering if the girth / length seems about right for her age etc? I know I know paranoid, but still.

Post a pic, and get a fresh weight. 300 grams is a small adult, obesity tends to hit the ones that aren't still growing (much).

okay her weight is 367g. Her length I'm still saying roughly 40 inches, hard to get an accurate measurement as I'm sure you know. I'm literally going by how she stretches out across the viv.

She doesn't feel all that fat, and she still has the breadbox shape for the most part, might be a little bit of chub but not much that I can tell.

It anything she's much taller upwards than she is wide to the side.

She sounds normal to me. Pics would help. I'd be feeding a snake that size every 10-14 days. One medium adult mouse. Aiming for a weight gain of 5-10 grams per feeding. Slowing down as she closes in on 400-500 grams.

Looks like a good body weight to me.

If you start seeing bumpy lumps near the tail, those are called "hips" fat snakes have hips. If you see that starting to happen, then maybe adjust the feeding schedule a bit.

She looks great to me. Hips are hard to stop once they start, so watch closely on the sides right before the vent. If she starts to look puffy there, that is the beginning of hips.

How do you know she's a female?

She's not fat and looks healthy. Agree w/Nanci I'd put a girl that size on a 10 day adult mouse feeding schedule. Looks like a female to me, but to guess from a blurry above photo on a bedsheet is a stretch. I've held them in my hands and been wrong, so take my guess as what it is, a guess! But if the vent is where I think it is from the top, that's a short tail.
