Ah, these killing threads always get the most agitated posts. I will say that if what you are doing is motivated by hatred (as Nanci indicated was the case), then you have no recourse to rational justification for the action. We have these lofty egos we use to reflect on things, and when we really let go we have them come in to try to make it look proper afterwards. Our success or failure has no bearing on the original action, though.Hawkin' said:It's not like she tortured it,she did what she had to do to get rid of it.OH,the poor coon, give me a break :sobstory: I like city rats, house mice, bees and ants, but I bet a lot of you "cruel & mean" people kill them with poison, traps and sprays.Where do you draw the line of what is okay to kill.To me raccoons are way over populated disease carrying major pains in the a**.
Your actions stand on their own as a testament to who you are when you're talking about yourself. I was surprised at Nanci's vitriol as well, but there you are. The Nature out there that is not confined to our fake habitats has no concern for our plans or our creations, and we respond to that in different ways.
My folks live in a wooded area. Sometimes raccoons have come and explored the trash cans; we didn't fuss about it, there were no fowl about under our care. If they are as legion as you claim, then I guess your "solution" is pointless. If not, then you are ridding the area of another of its fauna. In any case, you sound like you fit into the Texas culture quite comfortably.
What the psychologists call a Just World Hypothesis. Most folks have it; I don't know whether it corresponds to anything in physical actuality, but I'd be happy to mull it over with people if some thread warrants it...starsevol said:(...)
If someone else does something that is really truly wrong, then Karma will deal with it in the end. Everything balances out.
