Regurge?

I believe my corn has regurged twice, and both times it looked almost like a partial mouse, a probably under 3/8 of an inch wide and that sort of had an inch long trail of brown stuff leading away from it. Both times it was on the surface, which was a little odd, as that isn't characteristic of Flame (he prefers the bottom edge ). The only reason I could think of it not being a regurge is because of that brown trail, which I can sort of see as being his (excuse the pun) "skid marks".

Is it at all possible that it was only partially digested and he pooed it out?

It smelled like nothing. It's very possible that it's several days old though, and it has dried up.


And as far as the rug urge protocol, I didn't follow it after my first suspected regurge. I was panicked and my judgment was screwed up.

Chances are it was a poo then. An unattended regurge will stink a room out - it'd be a hard thing to miss over several days.

Probably best to be safe than sorry if you're worried. Following the regurge protocol won't cause any harm.

I am going to go ahead with the regurge protocol. Looking at my calender, where I put down all my feeding dates, the regurge could have been a week old. I don't know if it could still stink out a room, but I didnt smell anything, even when I put my head right over the tank. This is only a fuzzy though, so I'm not sure it could smell that bad.

Oh it could! A regurge of any size - even a pinkie - could peel wallpaper at ten paces.

Yes, even a regurged pink has that sickly sweet / sour smell of vomit. Kind of like people vomit, but worse. You will know it when you smell it. Even after you remove the soiled shavings, there is still a faint "aroma" left in the tank.

Huh, very odd. I smelled nothing at all. I don't even smell poo, even iff it's still fresh. I do think it's a regurge, as the original regurge had fuzz in it. Unless fuzz could survive the whole digestion process, it's a regurge.

Dried poo a few days or a week old won't smell of anything much, so that would follow. I've seen fur/fuzz in the occasional poo - depends on how fast its digestion was moving, I guess. The more you tell us, the more I'm sure it's poo.

Treat it as a regurge anyway if you feel the need - it's worth it for your peace of mind and won't hurt the snake.

Flame seems to be growing pretty fast, so I don't know. The only problem is that when I cam back and found the 1st "regurge" the hot side temperature was 72 degrees. So I'm think temperature could be the problem. Flame has never had problem with anything before, and for the most part, he was low maintenance.
