Regurgitation

I agree that you should wait until you have the t-stat set up and temps regulated. It will be better for the snake to wait a little longer, than to feed again if it is the temps that caused it.
Also, I agree with ordering NutriBAC, and I would wait until you had it in hand, and then follow the Regurge protocol to a "T".

Snakes can recover from a regurge ok, if you do it correctly. If hey continue to regurge, it lessens their chance of survival.

I have one of them little handheld digital temp "guns", cost about ten bucks. I have a couple more than a few baby and juvie corns in one former bedroom, running a little ceramic heater (kerosene causes carbon monoxide) , I don't use UTH. I'm NOT saying to change your setup. I AM saying, a cheap little temp gun will let you know if all the other heating stuff you already have in place- are keeping temps honestly / what they are set at.

In my itty bitty experience with corns, regurgs seem to happen when either when
1. temps drop below 76.
2. when overfed/fed too many/ fed prey size too large.

He is a little guy and the pinkie I gave him was most likely a little big for him. Wish I could find some reds to feed him. The pinkies I have are all good sized ones. Thanks for the advice

You can (assuming the pinkies are frozen) cut them in half. Easiest while they are still frozen. Otherwise, it's messy. Very messy. Don't ask how I know. :sidestep:

Dave, I'm curious if this means you haven't seen the correlation between feeding in shed and regurges? Or maybe you just avoid feeding in shed so don't see it because you don't give the opportunity for it to happen?

I've seen all the posts about regurg in the blue. I've personally never had any issues around it. I must be doing something wrong. Probably because the entire rooms are heated. So there is no hot/cold side, just a steady 82. Either the individual feeds while it is in the blue or it does not. Those which do not feed in the blue are marked as such (index card of notes about each individual taped to vivs).
 
Fed Maul half a pinkie last night. He ate well then hid last night. Checked for regurge this morning, but didn't see any. Going her holds it down

Good luck, I hope he keeps it down! I will be feeding Vera half a pinkie on Saturday (she regurgitated on friday) if she sheds before then, or after she sheds if not.

If she regurged on Friday, you should not be feeding again on Saturday (and yes I know you mean 8 days later not 1 day later). Wait at least 10 days from the regurge before you try to feed again.

Doesn't KathyLove's regurge protocol says 8-10 days? She's very young so I was going to go with the lower amount of time.
 
Just to update,Darth Maul ate a half a pinkie last week and has been very active. Finally got my thermostat in and installed temps are right on the money.
