Yeah, I prefer TMF but I can't dispute those figures. If someone is not experienced ordering mice though, or just doesn't need that many, it doesn't make sence comparing prices like that. They will end up paying quite a bit more for empty space with both companies.
I'd say for those of us with only a few snakes it makes more sence comparing the price to the local alternative, ie Petco etc. In which case both companies will save you a ton of money..

Exactly what I was trying to say with my very first post in this thread, unless you are buying in quantity, find a local supplier for your mice needs.

I've placed orders for myself and three other people (going in together) and MF has always come out on top in price... IDK. If you guys are getting those kinda figures, then I can def. see the discrepancy in my statement. However, my orders are never near that price... I think the most expensive order I've ever done, including shipping, was around $200.00.

WAIT GUYS, MY BAD.... i've never ordered from MF.... I always use Mice Direct.... sorry, got the names mixed up.

THOSE GUYS ARE TOP NOTCH.

RP Vs. TMF

I used to use the mouse factory, until recently I ordered from Rodent Pro to see how there quality was and I was and am satisfied, you cant beat there prices. The way the economy is,I cant afford TMF,they do pac them better but that dont matter when I use around 900 feeders a month they dont stay in the freezer long anyway!

Rodent pro has had some really good deals lately. I think the Mouse Factory mice look nicer and are packed in a more attractive way, but does that really matter ? We are talking about dead mice after all. I have found a CS member near me and now go in on orders with him. It helps a great deal on the shipping charges when you can split it with somebody. We used Rodent pro last time and the mice are just fine with me. I also never wait till I'm out of feeders to order, so a few days makes no difference to me.

Even so, you're not getting 1900 mice for $200. You have to compare on a per mouse basis . . . not total.

whoa guys. What I said was that I didn't see the fine print, It had been almost a week and no mice. That is why I called. I was originally going to go with TMF, but the prices were cheaper at RP so I decided to order from them. I cancelled it when I found out it was still going to be another week before they arrived (I ordered last Friday and they told me delivery would be next Thur). I called TMF today and left a message (no online ordering???), they are closer to me (TX) and so maybe I can get them faster. Plus you can buy only 50 (which is still a lot for 2 corns), but better than 100 from rodentpro. Price wasn't the issue, availability is. Petsmart only has one size of pinkie (tiny) and I don't feel my babies are ready for fuzzies yet.
I will look into micedirect.com though.

I decided to try mice direct. just bought 100 peach fuzzies for $10.00 plus shipping. Man that must be a lot of dry ice (over 30lb total weight). It ended up being cheaper than rodentpro too.

Thought so. TMF has high prices and I didn't think you had a secret around them.... :sidestep:

got the mice in a little while back. perfect size (peach fuzzie) for my CB '08 corns. Hopefully they can finish off 100 before it is time to upsize the feeders.

About how long do you consider it safe to have the mice in the freezer? I've just got one snake right now so buying online isn't feasible right now. But in two months I'm going to buy two more snakes, that is going to make buying from Petco pretty costly. But to fill a box enough to make the shipping worth it, that will be a lot of mice.

I have had vacuum sealed bags of mice sit in my freezer for a year or more with no issues. However, if you are keeping them in plastic baggies they probably wouldn't last half that time before getting freezer burn. Even if you only need a certain size and plan on ordering online, it doesn't hurt to buy the next size (or two) up from that as well and just keep them in the freezer until your snakes are big enough. The online companies ship their mice already vacuum sealed.

RodentPro does not vacuum seal their mice either so I bought a vacuum sealer and and seal enough animals for two weeks at a time. I've got 500 x-small pinkies in the freezer for this season that have been there since September and look fresh as the day I sealed them.

Casey at RodentPro is great to deal with and always goes over and above to please his customers. And as already said, best $$$.
