Rootbeer Snows?

carnivorouszoo

Crazy Critter Lady
I know rootbeers are hybrids, but I had not heard they were available in snow. I saw one at a pet shop. It looked like dirty snow. Pinkish white with a brownish undertone. When I go back out there if they still have it (wanting $109 or I would have gotten it) I will see if they will let me take a pic. What other "rootbeer" colors are there out there?

As far as I understand Rootbeer for the Creamsicle (corn snake x emory rat) means the equivalent of a Normal or Classic for Corn snakes.. Thus the concept of Rootbeer snow does not seem possible, as snow is a morph of it's own, that lacks color.

Although, I am not an expert so if anyone else has more information or a better explaination, feel free.

Aside from creamsicle, most of the emoryi-hybrid morphs don't have a set morph name, so rootbeer anery/ghost/snow are correct. I think Stout for the rootbeer anery and Lager for the rootbeer ghosts would be great names. :p Maybe "sprite" for the snows?

Rootbeer = normal coloured corn x emoryi cross
Creamsicle - amel corn x emoryi cross

I don't think there are trade names for other morphs of the corn x emoryi cross.

Well, I know its a hybrid they admitted it easily. In the past this shop did not really know what they had. I gave them a few sites to help with corn snakes :) for example here and ians viv. Now they seem to know what they are talking about more. And they readily accept opinions and thoughts on morphs etc. They said the breeder it came from calls them rootbeer snows because so many people know what a rootbeer is. I think Rootbeer Float is more suiting. It really was the color of the foam that comes off the ice cream ass the root beer is poured over it :)

I am SO SORRY! I swear I only hit the "s" key once! I can't go back and edit it either :( I really need to become a paid member :awcrap:

Amel Rootbeer = Creamsicle

Hypo Rootbeer = Cinnamon

Snow Rootbeer = Snowsicle

Ultramel Rootbeer = "Creamsicko" (named by T&J's Corns)

Those are the ones that I know about. I have a few Rootbeers that have the genetic make-up to produce Anery Rootbeer, Snow Rootbeer and Ultramel Anery Rootbeer.

i've also heard the name 'Icicle' used for corn x emoryi snow hybrids.

I think 'Snowsicle' gives a better clue to the snakes lineage even though it sounds a bit sillier.

I think this would be the best descriptive of it's lineage because it is a snow and the fact.................
