Rosie is growing!

Another long estuary walk today. Rosie couldn't resist the water and led someone else's dog astray. After they'd been splashing about happily for a while the owner of the 'lost' dog arrived and wasn't happy about the stinky mud they were covered in. (I resisted telling him to keep his dog on a lead or under better control if he didn't want it having fun)
I picked a few pounds of red plums while Rosie chased rabbits. She's so bad at it I swear the rabbits are laughing at her!

Today Rosie's new collar arrived, beautiful cherry red soft leather with hand tooled roses on it.

Where did you get that collar? It's beautiful! Looks good on Rosie.
I got it from an online leather work site, they have stock items that they personalise for you, this came 4 days after ordering. I just gave a description of what I wanted as they didn't have pictures of any collars with roses on, and I couldn't be happier with the result! Now I know how good the work is I shall probably get her a few more collars from there, and the perfect presents for my friends with dogs too!

Off to the river with Rosie now....
Have a good time!

I wonder if you're gonna take pics... I looked at your pics of Rosie playing in the water and all... GREAT PICS! I NEVER take good pics, hence you never see anything from my side. LOL. Maybe I'll post a few shots on DYK of my kids racing go carts from our vacation. IF they're good enough. :)

More than 5 hours later, home with a tired out but happy dog! We met my sister with one of her terriers, and the girls had a great time flushing and chasing rabbits. Rosie swam in the river and got nice and muddy in the ponds. Next weekend we're going to a country fair and dog show, so I'll strip out Rosie's coat a few days before to have her ready for the ring.

I had a great day out with Rosie today, at Firle Park Country Fair and 3-day Event! First off, lots of equestrian action, watching dressage, showjumping and cross-country.

I loved the gundog scurry, working dogs obviously having such a good time was brilliant to see (and interesting to compare the working version of labradors and spaniels to the show/pet type)

Great photographs, Janine.
Thanks for keeping this thread going.

That dapple grey horse is more than beautiful. My favorite horse morph. LOL.

EDIT : Oops, sorry. I didn't realize you were still adding. I'll move this post if you want, J9.

But for me the main event was ran by the Sussex Longdog Association. A full programme of showing and racing for lurchers, sighthounds and longdogs!

The overall winners of the lurcher showing. And then it was time for the racing, which was breathtaking. Incredible, beautiful, wonderful dogs

Rosie was entered with 3 other small lurchers for her first ever proper race ........ she'd been watching the other races keenly, she set off well chasing the lure ..... got half-way down the half mile course before stopping, turning around and racing top speed back to me!
Here she is, totally worn out from her adventures, possibly the worst running dog in the world!

Glad you liked it Eric!

Rosie has been extra bouncy since I got back from my holiday, so today we went for an extra long walk to take some of the fizz away! A beautiful sunny day, so off to the estuary to meet my sister and her dogs. On his first walk out, little Brock, a lovely Jack Russel, who Rosie played with really nicely.

After rushing around the rabbit meadows, it was off to the river and into the mud for Rosie and Porridge! Luckily the tide came in enough for the dogs to swim and wash off the stinky mud.
