• Hello!

Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.

Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....

Please be certain that the location field is correctly filled out when you register. All registrations that appear to be bogus will be rejected. Which means that if your location field does NOT match the actual location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected.

Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

Sending PM's!!

1. This forum requires that you wait 180 seconds between sending private messages. Please try again in 100 seconds.

Drives me NUTZ!!

I realize that it may be set up, to prevent spammers from sending SPAM, but when I am trying to reply to multiple PM's and have to wait three minutes in between. Ugg!

Anything that could be done to fix it, so "Contributing Members" get a reprieve? ;)

Type like you have one hand in a cast might help.

Just saying.....

What an interesting complaint! It takes me at least that long to just get my thoughts together and written down, and then I have to go back and proofread to correct any errors or to rephrase things. And you get that many PMs at a time that you are required to reply to them in under 3 minutes or else you get behind? Ah...to be so popular...;)

LOL! I have the same issue, and have asked about it before...I think actually to Rich directly in Daytona, but for the life of me, I can't remember the reason behind it. I remember it making sense at the time, though.

The delay between posts is in place to stymie spammers of several levels. In many cases, porn spammers will register on sites and then use the PM system to send messages to as many members as they can before complaints shut them down. On another level, some members may want to send out a blizzard of "come to my site" type of messages via PMs, which is really not an appropriate use of the resources here.

As far as relaxing the delay for Contributing members, I'll check on that, but if I remember correctly, this is a global setting and not one that can be adjusted per each member group.

Sorry gang, but spam is just a way of life on the internet these days and everyone is trying to limit the damage it causes.

It seems to me like even if you COULD lift this rule for contributing members, it would still be possible for an account to be phished/hijacked, which would lead to more spam.

What always happens to me is I'll reply to one PM, try to send another, get the waiting message, and then since I have cs.com open in another window, go start reading threads and totally forget about the PM I have left to send.
