Amazing shots! Thankyou for sharing, looks like there are some great set ups as well.
As far as non reptile shots go, I'm quite interested! Lets see em!

Great photos! Thanks. That place is obviously doing something right. That's a healthy-looking group of reptiles. I think my favorites are the giant blue iguanids and the giant green one. Don't know the species.

I'm up for some non-reptiles too. :)

I went, too!

Oh, fun! :) I visited the Shedd Aquarium, too, to see the reptile exhibit...mind if I add some of my photos, too? I got a bunch of photos because I wanted to make a slideshow for my students...:)

By the way...

Btw, Checkerbelly, what type of camera do you have? Those photos turned out wonderfully despite any glass/glare & smudgy fingerprints...:)

Thanks! It's a Cannon Powershot A610.

Some of the pics were taken by my girlfriend with a Cannon Powershot SD550 ? I'm not sure. It's the compact version of the A610.

5 years ago I went to Shedd and all my photos turned out like crap. So this time I was on a mission.

Great shots. Shedd Aquarium has some awesome set-ups. I have an aunt and uncle in Illinois and we visit there quite a bit i just can't get good shots like you did!!!!

some of my own to share :)

Checkerbelly, my boyfriend has the same camera as your girlfriend, but he's kinda mad now after seeing your photos -- he feels that he has a lot yet to learn in using his camera to get as great-looking photos as you both got! :)

Here are some of my own (technically, the boyfriend's) photos to share from the aquarium. Was the Komodo dragon not out for you? We went through the exhibit once, and it was sleeping, so I talked with some caretakers and they gave me an idea as to his "schedule"...so I came back 2 hours later, and he was in rare photo-ham form. :) I love the photo of the little girl with the crocodile(?) toy...I told her that it was a good thing that she had it to scare the Komodo away. :p She had it held up at that level the entire time & he came right over to check it out...it was funny. :)

We took a bunch of photos, too, from all over the museum, but I just added the reptile ones & then one from the frogs...I thought it was cute how all 4 of them seemed to be commiserating together. :) (And, the photos that I entitled "Eyes Wide Shut" & "Eyes Wide Open"...it spooked us when he opened his eyes!)

The Shedd Aquarium is great; I try to go at least once a year...but, I did go to the new Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta earlier this year -- amazing! We took a ton of photos there, too...:)
