Shedding behavior

hey guys,
i was just wondering what is the normal behavior cycle for a shedding snake. My snake is about 6 months old. it hasnt shed in about 2 months and i think its due for a shed. For the last like 4 days hes been in hides and i havnt seen him at all, even though it feeding time too, which is unusual. But his eyes didnt cloud up or anything. Now, hes more active and moving around again. I heard that sometimes snakes will be inactive while they prepare to shed, and then become normal again be4 actually shedding, and then a couple days later will actually shed. I dont know if this is true, and was just wondering if anybody knows if this is normal behavior. thanks in advance.

Yes, your snake is behaving normally. It's easy to miss the color changes associated with shedding in some morphs. You'll probably find it easier to tell when you've watched yours through several shedding cycles. I'm willing to bet you'll find a freshly shed snake very soon, all clean and bright. :)

Handle away! I know one of my friends corns needs a day after she sheds, but she's nasty anyway- we think maybe they are more sensitive after a shed, but not entirely sure. Her other corn trixie is a rockstar with a naturally sweet personality and doesn't mind being taken out after a shed so I assume it probably varies from snake to snake.

Definitely, Danielle. Most are at their best after a shed; noticeably more active with voracious appetites. Perhaps your friend just has a grumpy girl who doesn't enjoy being handled anyway! I've never heard of their skin being more sensitive after shedding, but who knows :)
