Shipping out the animals I have orders for has been on my mind so much lately that I had a nightmare (or actually this morning) last night about it. I dreamt that I was working in the reptile building, and at 5:45 pm the FedEx came in the door for the pickups. I was standing there dumbfounded because I had a BUNCH of orders to go out that day that I had scheduled with people and I had completely forgotten to pack them up! That's when I snapped awake in a cold sweat.

Man, this gets to me every year...............

But I have started sending out notices to begin shipping out orders. A couple of things are holding me up, however, in that there haven't been many, or any hatch out yet:

  • Charcoal Ghosts
  • Charcoal Aztecs
  • Charcoals
  • Hypo Blood Reds
  • Blood Reds (just recently had some hatch out, so that is looking up)
  • Ultramels (this is going to be a problem. The big "motherload" clutch I was waiting to hatch just showed me that the male is an Ultramel instead of just an Ultra. And luck just wasn't with me for the babies. Unfortunately, I am going to have to let some people down this year, I think.)
  • There are probably a few more, but you get the idea....

Maybe half of the clutches have at least started hatching, so hopefully those gaps will be filled in soon.

Now, my next nightmare is going to be showing up at Expo and I am either naked with just a towel wrapped around me, or we aren't selling a thing there, or I lost my tables and can't find them. I get those about every year around this time. :eek1:

Oh yeah, I am going to be doing a *special sale*, but just haven't had the time to mess with it. My birthday is coming up this week, so I figure that is a good excuse to do something like that. I have the birthday, and give everyone else the presents! :crazy02:
 
LOL Rich, terrible when things play on your mind in your sleep and mess up your dreams isn't it! I keep having the same nightmare that I've organised a birthday party and I'm stood in the middle of a room with balloons etc. and my party dress on and nobody shows up........... I know it's got everything to do with this show i'm doing.....

I'm looking forward to my babies whenever they get here...I can be patient. (Especially since we are re-doing the floor in my animal room next week! :p )
 
Speaking of the whole ultramel/ultra thing....

Is it that difficult to tell the difference between an adult ultramel and an adult ultra? Clearly I've never personally seen either as adults, so I'm curious.

So is the snake you directed me to on Serpenco in fact an ultra, or an ultramel?

I fear that if telling the difference has stumped you, the rest of us are in for quite a bit of trouble down the road.

Hah! I've been crying wolf about things for quite a while now. And you know what? There really ARE wolves out there..........
 
Just curious, how long does it usually take you to get around to sending emails to shedule delivery to everyone? I can't even to begin to imagine how busy (and stressed!) you must be right now. Just stoked about getting my snakes and am only curious.

I still have a few to sex so I will see where I am at with them. Looks like I don't get to keep any of them myself, so I will be sending out all that I can. Sorry, but it's just unmercifully busy around here lately.

Sounds like a great chance to ship out some of those 2004 animals in a trade for some ultramels or ultras for yourself. :)
 
Actually it looks like I will be getting a good number of GoldDusts this year. So that will suffice for me. I think having the Caramel gene already in the mix will be a bonus anyway down the road a ways.
 
should we just email you ahead of time concerning availability, or is the "out of stock" notices on the serpenco site pretty current?

This could be an interesting new selling tactic! It'd be akin to the busty beauties at car shows lol.
