I wonder how usual/unusual it is with siamese twins in corns??!!!

Last year I got a hatchling with two heads and this year I got a siamese twin with one head and two bodies!!!

Last years twoheaded siamese didn't get out of the egg alive but this years siamese is still alive!!! I woun't keep it alive but I'm facinated by this happening two years in a row. Both siamese came from the same female so she must have a tendensy to making twins. There is no other abnormalitys among her offspring. They are all helthy, strong and beatifully perfekt.
 
Why would you not keep it alive?
They have been know to survive and live good life
If you Do not want to care for it ship it to me I will give it a good home

just wundering if you was to keep it alive would there be problems feeding it with two bodies which body would get the rat and aventualy would the other body then die from lack of food
 
I am sorry I missunderstood I thought you said the one this year had two heads. I have not heard any cases of two body's surviving

Maybe you should read properly and consider the situation before jumping down someones throat... :rolleyes:

And someone recently post pictures of their 2 bodied, one headed corn. I have not read any updates but It is a fairy recent thread so maybe you can find it :)
 
I don't see how offering to help constitutes 'jumping down someone's throat'?
On the flip side I doubt if anybody would give away a two headed snake for free, they can fetch a pretty penny if you get can get them to eat and thrive.
 
When I came home from work today the baby was totally out of its egg. She had one head and two bodies. The bodies were linked together belly to belly an then behind navalcoard there were two separate tails. The poor little thing was shaped like a "U" and couldn't stretch out its body. I took some pics of the little one before I put it to rest and I will try to get them up by tomorrow night.

I took a look at the other thread and I'm glad that I'm not the only one fascinated by these abnormalitys. It's kind of exiting in a weird way :eek1:

They are fascinating, but not in a way I want to experience firsthand.
 
I would try to see if it would survive. If it's not destined to survive it won't, but it would be interesting to see, if like human co-joined twins, that the animal could make it. Give it a go. Just because there are two bodies, doesn't mean that both won't share nutrition. The other fascinating thing to see is if it does feed, would the bodies alternate in where the food goes, or only one. It would depend upon the shared systems I suppose.
 
If the body had'nt been shaped like a "U" I would have tried to keep it alive but not when it could'nt move on its own I think that's inhumane. It shared stommace so I belive that it would have done ok.

I can see the problem. Too bad. I was reading my Biomedical and Surgical book on reptiles and it shows anomalous co-joining. Mostly bi-cephalids but a few with two heads and co-joined bodies. There wasn't a single photo of a single head with two bodies. I wonder if a museum or university would be interested in studying it. Wish you were closer as I could x-ray it and see what the internal structures looked like.

The sadest thing was that it was very alert trying to move about flicking its tounge and everything...
 
Oh my, how sad for the poor snakey.. :( I too am intrigued by the abnormalities, but Im glad for the snakes sake that you put it to rest... He sure was a pretty snake though...
 
It would make for an interesting necropsy to see what organs were shared or what were individual.
