Sierra Sunrise

October *might* be OK for herping...we'd have to head south, though. Late September would be better...LOADS of baby rattlesnakes running around...

But the photography opportunities will be there. Lots of aspen trees changing color on the mountainsides...

September would be ideal for me...need to see if I can swing the time off that month and what the "free ticket" space on the airlines looks like.
I am heading to Utah in April (Moab, Monument Valley etc...) so hopefully can practice up on my scenery photography!

I would love to go herpin' with you - you always find some of the most amazing stuff. Would especially love to see a rattler in the wild. We have them down here - but in all my hikes, I have yet to see one. Still haven't seen any in AZ after 3 or 4 trips out there either!

Bishop!

The sierra mountains,is probably the most beautifull places I have ever been.I used to go there for alot of years, usually 3 or more times a year! I loved the fishing and saw alot of snakes.I always get a warm peacefull feeling as soon as I get there. I have camped and stayed in cabins up in the mountains. The lakes are formed from the snow melting off the mountains and the water is crystal clear! The air is clean and fresh. Those pictures make me want to have to get out there again this summer, maybe even this spring!
