Signs of an allergic reaction or normal symptoms?

Nitelion94

I am The Nitelion
Google was not much help at all and so I figured you guys were the next best thing!

I Have never had this happen before. I was outside and I opened up my car door only to find out it had a ton of red wasp living in it! I was only stung once that I know of but was in a mad dash to get away so could have been more.

It was on the end of my thumb just behind the nail. My right hand is about twice the size of my left, Im having a little trouble breathing, My mouth is tight and is hard to open and my head is killing me!

So, Allergic Reaction or normal Wasp Symptoms???

Trouble breathing is an allergic reaction!!! Take an benadryl and have someone close by to drive you to the hospital if needed!

Swelling can happen with any sting and the severity of an allergic reaction varies from person to person

If you haven't already, go to the hospital! The swelling is one thing, but the respiratory trouble, headache, and "lockjaw" (for lack of a better term) are all signs of a serious allergic reaction! Take allergy medicine and call 911!

Head up, Im fine! everything but the swelling is gone. and I found a 2nd sting! right on the bottom of my foot! Time to start wearing shoes all the time!

You know what, Ryan, you might want to ask your doctor for an epi-pen to carry with you, just in case. The breathing issues worry me a little. Once you are sensitized, you can have a more serious reaction the next time.

Heheh, that wouldn't happen here. Nothing could survive half an hour in this heat!

Thats a good idea Nanci. My moms in VA till tomorrow but ill talk to her when she gets home to set up an appointment.

Anytime you have trouble breathing with an allergic reaction it is something to be concerned about and it is normally recommended to see a doctor right away. If you get stung again your reaction maybe worse so I agree with Nanci and would ask about an epi-pen.

In other words- not able to breathe? get away from the keyboard and head out to a hospital. No one will be able to treat you through a screen man.

Glad you're OK.
