Smells like snake...

Teddy Roosevelt

i loev cronsankes
My friend came into my room today and said "It smells like snake in here!"
It kinda offended me, because I don't smell anything. It's not as if I'm breeding mice in there (which is the smell I associate with my breeder's house and reptile stores) and the tanks are spotless. What the heck does snake smell like, exactly?

Maybe it was just sarcasm cause your friend knows you have a snake? IMO that lac of smell is the best thing about owning snakes:)

bout what you think your gonna transform with scales and a forked tongue? lol :D if you doo feel free to spread that over here. i want my tongue forked the wife wont let me though :(

then dont end up crazy and with 30 snakes lol what more do you wanna hear? lol :D

i always imagined the crazy old lady at the end of the block too kill a mockingbird with the radley family living and gem and scout are afraid to go there. creepy house crazy old lady but instead of dogs CATS!! :D

I have 23 snakes and I have no smell....or at least I don't think so? Although I do enjoy the smell of musk after a hard days work

This may sound strange...

But there have been times that I detected the distinct odor of bell peppers when around baby corns. Not sure why - I don't always smell it. But sometimes I do.

Every animal has a smell - but human noses are usually not sensitive enough to smell reptiles - except when they smell like bell peppers, lol!

That's interesting, Kathy! I've never noticed that. What I have noticed is my Black Milk has a slight musky smell to him. He's never musked as far as I know, but he does have a smell to him. It can be strong sometimes, but I always smell it. It's almost like a sweet musky smell. My corns and BP don't have a smell as far as I've seen.

I almost think that your friend was kidding around, too. I know you've got babies, so even if there was poo in their vivs, I don't know that you could smell it without sticking your head in there. I don't know who would want to do that, either. LOL

I sometimes smell what the "milk" inside oleanders and dandilions smells like... don't think it's musk though, even though I did originally. And only with my snow corn.

I have never noticed a smell associated with my snakes, but like others have said I do love the smell of aspen, especially when it's freshly misted. :)

Try going away for a week, and then coming back. When I did it for Christmas, I definitely noticed a smell when I got back. Albeit, not a strong smell, but a smell nonetheless. I think the only snake of mine I can actually smell is my female Suboc. She's always had a very interesting smell to her. And it's not a bad smell. Quite the opposite, she smells quite nice! LOL
