So, I found this strange animal...

So the other day, I found this weird looking animal wandering around outside my house... It has four legs and seems to be nocturnal, so it MUST be a gecko, right? ;) It has taken quite a liking to this empty vision cage!

Then again, it eats mice like there's no tomorrow, and it hisses whenever the dogs come near. So maybe it's some strange mutant snake?? Ginger seems convinced she can tame the beast as long as she doesn't make direct eye contact with it.

... On a more serious note, I haven't the faintest idea what I'm going to do with this furry little interloper. But I'm very glad she's off the streets and has a full belly.

Nanci, tempting but not planning on it. lol. Though if she can get used to the dogs (she's making good progress!), I may try seeing if I can foster her through the shelter or a rescue. She is incredibly sweet! Total people cat.

With all those traits it may be a hybrid ;)

She's a cutie. Even if your not going to keep her I would take her to the vet asap to see if she was ever spayed.

Yes! That must be it. It's an ebil mutant hybrid! That's a lot of hair for a gecko/snake hybrid. Perhaps it is part Tarantula, as well? Gaketula? Tarsnacko? Snecktula? Hmm.

Alicia, pretty safe to say she hasn't been.. She doesn't appear to be more than 3 months old. Couldn't feel any sort of incision or spay scar on her belly.

So glad that my workplace fosters kittens. I would be absolutely clueless if not for what I've been able to learn at work this year, lol! Then again, if my workplace didn't foster cats, I wouldn't be one foster/test run week away from co-adopting a certain fluffy kitten. LOL. I was actually supposed to take him late Weds/early Thurs, but postponed when the stray showed up. Don't want to risk his good health!

Vet trip is definitely in order, even if just for a health check, deworm, and FELV/FIV testing right now. I'll be sorting all that out in the next few days.

Lol! She is working hard to win me over. If she would just make friends with the dogs, she might succeed! I am amazed how people friendly this cat is. Always purring, and loves having her belly rubbed!

Aww, what a lovely little interloper! I love torties too. I had a tortie point Siamese that was an absolute sweetheart.

My hybrid cat (snow Bengal) looks a bit different than your lizard...lol. I think mine's a newt. She's awfully wriggly.

Oh! I completely forgot to update. It took 2 weeks, but I did finally find a rescue willing to take the little sweetheart. :) She did eventually get over the dogs (more or less), so it wasn't too awful an ordeal for her!

Aaand little girl gets her happy ending. The one big bonus of this particular rescue taking her is that we have a coupon deal we offer for their adoptions. And they have an adoption center next door, so very few adopters pass it up.

Yesterday afternoon, my little stray friend got adopted!! Little girl and her mother. No other pets. Absolutely perfect for this little lovebug!

Oh, I am SO happy to hear a happy ending! I have 6 cats right now (not by choice) but two are sisters that I watched come into the world after rescuing their mom from the casino parking lot I work for. She ended up giving birth two weeks after I brought her home (was SUCKERED into bringing her home) and I adopted out all 5 kittens. However, the two sisters I had given to my best friend's twin made her allergies so bad I agreed to take them back after two years. One just hates on all the others, she is the sweetest and most loving cat by herself, but another cat on the scene and she chases it away. I have been trying to find a home for her as an only cat, it will break my heart but I know she will be happier.

Please send some of your luck my way!

I had a dilute tortie just like that. She walked up to our house one day and turned out to be an angel in disguise. She was one of the best cats we ever had.
My neighbor's pit bull came in our doggy door one day while we were out and killed her and four kittens and left body parts all over our house. I drove up just in time to see him come out. He kept me trapped in my car for a while. I was completely unprepared for the devastation that dog caused. It broke my heart when I found her.
