Little Anise is finally settling down enough to have her picture taken, and she's looking quite lovely as her colors come in as well!

She's going to be lots of fun getting to watch grow up! I just might have to make a progression to follow how she changes :D

Thanks for looking!

Wow, I've never seen a caramel as a hatchling. How do you tell these apart from normals? Is it the eyecolor?

Interesting coloration for a Caramel. I've personally never seen that much orange on a Caramel . . . actually, I've never seen any orange on a Caramel. :shrugs:

That is what I was wondering, maybe a misunderstanding could it be a normal het carmel, I had a table at that show but didn't see those there. Usually carmel shows through even in hets.

I'm definitely no hatchling morph expert, that's for sure XD. Caramel is what I was told, so I'm taking their word for it, since they looked to know what they were breeding pretty well.
I'll have to see if I can dig up some known caramel hatchling pics for comparison now.

Sorry to cause problems it could just be the pics, check out this site, Sean lives above Canon City and has been in this business longer than most anyone. He has pics of hatchlings of both.

I'd also doubt that's not caramel at all... Like already said, too much orange. The link zorro posted is good. There's a good pic of a caramel hatchling, and as you can see it's more greyish than brown/orange.

No worries, I'd be happier knowing she's properly indentified :) good learning experience too.
And what a coincidence! I was just browsing that page as well, and the more I look at it, the more she does look like a normal. That's fine though, to be honest I bet my dad (who she belongs too) would like a normal more anyways XD

Oh, and to answer your earlier, I'm definitely planning on going to the Nov RMRE show, wouldn't miss it for anything! Which table will you be? I'll have to pop by and say hi :)

LOL. Well, my observation still stands! Cute AND I'd still love to see progression photos! :grin01:

I don't know what a caramel starts like... DIDN'T know... until now. LOL.

The breeder I bought my snake from told me I had an Albino Candy Cane. She is actually a Banded Amel. -shrug- you still have a very pretty snake. I want all of em! If only I had a lot of time...

VMS does know their stuff. It's probably a simple case of a mis-marking. Either way, he's a gorgeous snake!

I better clear this up as Sean at VMS didn't sell him the hatchling it was another vendor at the Denver show I just sent Caskin to Sean's site because there pics of both caramel and normal hatchlings.
