Great pics! Thanks for sharing! What is the gator looking thing in the last picture?

We went today to the show. I think that one was called the 'sedge' viper (if I spelled it right).

We picked up a pair of the red sided garters!

It was a Sedge Viper. I've seen a lot of those at the shows the past
couple of years. Read an article on the net recently about someone who
owned one, got bit and went to the hopitial. The Doctors
completely botch up the treatment by giving him a "Generic" anti-venin
since there is no specific anti-venin for the Sedge Viper bite yet. His hosptial
stay was extended several days because his condition was worsened
by the Doctors trying to treat him.

I'm surprised you didnt take a pic of the HUGE Black throat monitor that was down there... he belongs to a guy I know.

Talking about the guy that did the Seminar ? . . . LB (something)

If that's the guy, I have a couple of pictures of him holding the alligator
and that really cool black and white LARGE lizard (??). I have one of the
Black Throat monitor he had, but it was moving a lot during the show, and
the pictures didn't come out real well. . . .I do have one of him in the
container at his booth though.

Nah, a guy named Shawn had the Black Throat.. he was at the right entrance to the hot section. He didnt do a show. I think the guy you're talking about had a huge Tegu, which you may be talking about as the "black throat". Unless Shawn let the guy borrow him for the show. Either way, good pics, and thanks for sharing!

Ahhhh . . OK I think I know who you're talking about. . Is Shawn the
guy in the bottom photo here walking the BT on a leash ?

(Few more from the show)

Did anyone call to attention that some of the hots didn't have the red tape sealing their containers? We went with Danielle's dad, and he almost grabbed one around the air-holes before I stopped him

Apparently someone did. I was standing over near one of the tables where
the Sedge Pic was taken, and there was a couple of guys arguing about
the Red Warning Lables. .. . . Didn't hear the whole thing, but it appeared
someone there was upset because all that was displayed on the container
was the words "Venomous" in red letters. The guy behind the table was
saying that was all that was requied ?!?!

I've looked into it, and they are REQUIRED to be SEALED and ESCAPE-PROOF, not necessarily with red tape. Maybe he missed that first part. Or maybe red is the unofficial color for venomous, either way there were a lot of slackers and it worried me.

The majority of the Hots I saw had red tape sealing the containers, and
also had red lable with the snake info on them. . . . I saw a few at that one
table where the only thing on it were lables saying "Venomous" or "Venomous
Animal" . . . . looked like those had staples in the lid as well. I don't think
I got any pitures of them, but I could swear I saw a few that had no
markings are lables whatsoever. . . .I'll have to check my pics when I get
home this evening to see.

My main problem with it, as I've worked with hots for a while, is that people are stupid unless there is something big and bright, or you are there, they will try their hardest to do everything they can to get bit, without thinking that they might get bit.
