Yeah, I can see the damaged scales in your second and third photos. :(
She's a lucky girl to find you. She must have been so badly treated before.

Wowwww with just that one shed she looks sooooooo much better!
I am so happy for her!
I love viewing this thread because I know its just going to get better and better!

Thank you guys <3 I am a little surprised it has been as painless so far as it has.. I was expecting a lot more issues with the skin..

Did you talk to the vet again about her eye? Maybe something you could put on it? And I can't wait to see her after a few more sheds. She looks so beautiful! You're doing a great job!

he's on vacation for the next 1.5 weeks so no not yet... However this I think I will bring her in for.. he will have to use an opthomalascope or how you spell it to see what's going on on the inside if it's an old eye cap or something but I doubt it is... Problem is with a swollen eye is what's behind it causing it :( so once he comes back I will book an appointment for her I will bring in a fecal too...

Is there any evidence that she is blind? When she is in her viv and can't smell you, will she respond to a hand moving side to side or anything? With her scales like that, I can't imagine what a number the heat source did on her poor eyes.

Looks like she is a little angel...I'll never understand why people neglect their animals like this. She really hit the lottery winding up in your care.

Thank you Dux <3 I suspect she may be blind because the pre flash light sometimes make her shy away but only on the "normal" side.. BUT that can be completely coincidental too. I will wait for the vets opinion on it.. she doesn't seem to suffer but I know snakes hide very well when sick but she ate nice, poops nice, shed nice, pleasant temperament, getting more energetic so I suspect she is healthy that the eye is just permanent damaged or she's born like that.. and yeah her poor skin :( and I agree I don't comprehend why people get a snake to just ignore it, I am surprised she's still alive after the comprehensive damage that clearly has been done to her.. she looks like she's been in the fighting ring and lost.. I still find her pretty though but it pisses me off to be honest..

So Aurora is now 144 grams, she is gaining slowly, she shed again today. Took her 6 weeks between them, and now I am thawing her another adult mouse. She is eating like a little horse. I thought she weighed more but realize I have weighed her when not fully empty so the weight gain is only 18 grams in 9 weeks. Not too bad but I have had snakes who gained more. She is getting stronger and can grip really good now so something is happening, still same sweet temperament.

No.. She's blind, he suspects heat damage on the cornea, but it is hard to tell. Her eye cap is fine and it's nothing that will progress or get worse. She's stable at least. I am just hoping for a little more weight gain and then she will go trough a deworming. Poor snakey she's been trough a lot.

I've just read through this thread and I am so excited to see more updates on her!! You are doing a great thing Ravenessa. Keep up the good work! :)

Ok... someone is blue again.. I weighed her tonight and she is up to a whopping 164, so she is gaining on average about 10 -12 grams a month which is not too bad. Wish it'd be more.

I don't know if she's young or stunted as she is not the biggest snake on lenght and she's supposedly 3 years old.. I guess I will find out as time goes. I am noticing however, her body is becoming even and leaner, she is getting strong and more muscle tone. New pics after the shed.. <3
