Starburst and Neon Coral in Daytona

For those of you that have suspected me of photoshopping the colors on the Starburst and Neon Coral Snows, you can see for yourself at Daytona this weekend. Laura will have hers on display at the AwesomeCorns table, located near Lee Abbot's table.

I do have some Neon Corals ready to go, and the same pairing that produced the Starbursts last year will have eggs hatching shortly so there will be both varieties available this season.

I just got a couple of Neon Corals from Marsha, and they are brighter and better looking than the digi-cam could accurately capture. Sorry Marsha, I know you spend a couple hours setting up each photo-shoot, but your pictures don't really show how incredible their colors really are. Some colors just can't be captured digitally...

LOL thanks for the validation, Dave. It is SOOOO frustrating trying to photograph these guys. And just when I think it's perfect, I look at the photos on another monitor and they are all wrong. :headbang:
 
I have seen her snakes as well, last year at Anahiem. Unless she paints each individual scale (and if that is the case props for her patience), they're for real. Beautiful.

He's pinker then makes any sense.

Marsha, you breed the prettiest corns I've ever laid eyes on. I've been out of the loop for a while, so I haven't had a chance to post any new pics of my little bloodred I bought from you last year. He went through a rusty orange phase...but as his pattern fades, he gets deeper and darker blood red - just like Wild Cherry! He's got quite an attitude too. hehe. I can't thank you enough.

I'm getting really interested in opal corns lately. Planning on having any later this year?

Dont feel bad,I also was accused of that with the neons,people off the forum luckily visited my place to see the animals in person and knew they were as pink in person or pinker .
I am glad you stuck with working with them ........:)
 
Yup they are certainly pink in person, seen them at Pasadena..

IF I was an evil person I'd say that are all really ugly snakes so she wouldn't be able to sell them and would have to give them all to me! BUT...LOL I can't...I met Marsha last year in S.F. and was totally in awe of her snakes. They are stunning beyond belief. Since then I have been helping her out when I can so I get to go play with them fairly often and let me tell you OMG!! Does she have some lookers. Her Neon corals are to die for as are the starbursts. Anyone who gets one couldn't possibly be disappointed. I have a couple and when ever anyone sees them they are like...that can't be real!! LOL..they are that bright.

Marsha thank you for all your help over the year and I will truly miss your company when I move.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear your little cherry boy is doing so well. I held a few back from that same clutch and I just love them. I do plan to make some opals this year. I might even have an 09 or 2 that I will be letting go eventually. There is something weird going on in my opal/lavenders so I have held on to all of them to see how they turn out. I've crossed a couple different types of hypos into that line and I am getting some pretty colorful ones that seem to be getting pinker instead of fading.
 
Some camera sensors just cant get the subtle shades on these snakes - it also can be to do with the RGB colour balances that the camera is using and the computer is using and the colours are lost in the translation between the two...
I can well understand your frustration with that as its a common problem for even professional photographers.

A professional DSLR would be your friend here - but they are hellishly expensive £600 and upwards... but take very nice and detailed pictures nonetheless... A good 8+ megapixel fixed lens digital camera might do the job - look in good camera mags and on online photography sites for reviews, there are probably some good low priced cams about

I can see the pink in the outside shots better which is what I would have expected - but I would say that you'll only get good results with a really good DSLR unfortunately..
