Start of Breeding Season...

...at Slitherhood of Gaia.

I put my SPC male, Baron, in with my supercorn girl, Amazon, this afternoon and they went right to it. As much as I hate math I'm getting rather good at percentages, lol. The babies will be 12.5% Pueblan milk/18.75% Cali king/68.75% corn. I know for sure Baron is het amel. His daddy was an amazing amel wide stripe/aztec supercorn. Amazon is supposedly het amel, anery, hypo A and motley. I don't trust the person I got her (and her brother) from, so we'll see about those hets. I'll be very happy if she's at least het amel. I'll be pairing them up again a few more times this week.

I guess I got what I really wanted for Christmas, to start producing hybrids. :D

Congratulations and awesomeness - we are very jealous down here in AL. Great holiday gift - can't wait to see the results.

I was surprised that the female was willing, to be honest. It is pretty early and I don't feel that she's ovulating. She may not lay for some time, but I'm hoping to get an early clutch.

That's cool. I sent one of my kingsnakes off on breeding loan to WI. The woman said she takes them out of burmation in Feb. I can't wait for babies!

Seems like a few are going early this year. Tried my butter X cinder pairing....she was willing...he wasn't...where does that happen? Lol

I've been watching my females, & my WC, Mica, was looking a bit "puffy" so I put my male Alabama in with her & they hooked up within a few minutes.
My other Alabama female is also possibly starting to ovulate, so I put my male in wither her today. Hoping for 1, possibly 2 Alabama clutches this year. :)

I've had males run screaming from overly assertive females. LOL

Yeah...my butter female was WAY more agressive than he was...he started to warm up....then quit. I'll try them again friday or sat. Fingers crossed. But if the cinder bugs out on me...i have a lava male who seems eager to give it a go!
