Yes but if it were not for Bush he would have balanced the budget, paid off the national debt, given everyone free 'better' healthcare, abolished taxes, ended racism, saved all corporations, given everyone a raise, fixed the schools, fed the children, ended bi-partisanship, freed all trade, become friends with North Korea Iran Syria North Vietnam and Cuba, increased national wealth, repaved all roads to nowhere, eliminated all unemployment, saved the whales, cured cancer and aids, eliminated pollution, stopped global warming, ended all crime, pulled all nations up out of third world poverty, housed every American, prevented all natural disasters, extended human life by two fold, repaired the ozone, eliminated the need for any country to need a military, and otherwise created the perfect Utopian society the likes of which has never existed previously. You don't believe me just ask Ricky and Micheal. And I am sure Nova_C will back up their claims with metrics to prove it.

But ... as incentive we must still buy his wife $500 tennis shoes!

Since you brought up Marine I'll post too. lol I am proud of my brother who just got out of the Marines after serving 8 years. As an embassy guard he got to guard our world leaders at the G-8 summit in Scotland a few years back. I got picture of him with president Bush in front of the presidents helicopter.

With that said, I am sickened and scared at what is happening to our military. Republican free market capitalism is being applied to our military. That's right, our military is now being out sourced to private corporate firms. No checks and balances here folks, just free market capitalism being applied to our military. One branch of the government in control of it's own private army, now that's scary to me. These military contractors don't follow our government military chain of command or law, don't answer to our judicial branch and aren't hindered by your elected congress.

Republican insiders call it "War on the cheap". The only thing is... it's not so cheap. With my brothers training and experience he is leaving his option open to become a private contracted military man. Why, because of money, he would start out at a 6 figure income unlike when he was a Marine for the government.

Something that has gone on for years, prior to our countries creation, even! A good example of this, is privateers, (Hired Pirates) Imagine the what kind of havoc, damage and crime that these people, committed!

I don't think any war is cheap! Especially when lives are at stake!

Considering the training, I was put through and given in the ARMY, I can only imagine what he is worth, OUTSIDE, of the military. A lot of these "security" companies, that operate in the middle east, solicit a lot of specialized trained former military. It's not uncommon.

I don't know a single person that joined the military to become rich. We all join for different reasons, weather education or training and then we all end up serving and re-enlisting because of our nation and our pride! Money is the last thing I expected!

JMO based on my experience!!!

Wayne I'd like to tell you the situation you are in sounds familiar to me. It is common with Corporations in my circle to keep injured workers out. I'm not saying this to be harsh but to inform. In a labor market injured workers are damaged goods. If they can't preform all duties and all jobs then the company is better off with someone else. Since your comp. claim has already been accepted the damage is already done to your company. I doesn't cost them anymore to keep you out. It actually may be cheaper because they can drop your very expensive insurance and benefits and replace you with a healthy worker. I know of a company were this is standard and injured workers have to see the corp. Dr and pass a "Fitness for Duty" physical test. It's all set up so "damaged workers" don't come back. Most of them are ignorant to their rights or are too prideful to fight back.

If I were you I'd take davefiles advise and get in touch with a comp. lawyer. It's been my experience that just a letter from a lawyer goes a long way and cuts through corporate bureaucracy. I wish you the best and I'm sorry to here about your situation.

Fortunately, the company I work for, is still small. I don't have to deal with the corporate. I mostly deal with the owner of the company and his son, who I report to. Granted, they employ around a hundred employees. It's actually a very good company to work for. The only thing that I wish would change is them making alternative light duty available to me.

My issue isn't with them per se, it's the insurance carrier that is handling my claim. It's there bureaucratic red tape that needs cutting. It's their micromanaging my care, that is drawing this whole thing out.

I go in two weeks to see an Independent Doctor for a Medical Exam. I have spoken with my current doctor about this. BTW, I was referred to my current doctor, by the comp ins. He is actually glad that I am going for technically, my third opinion. This doctor is going to review the information in my record, all the films that were taken, the notes from my second opinion and then give his own.

My second opinion was done in Boston MA at the Mass Gen by a person who specializes in injuries of the wrist. His diagnosis, based on a whole new set of films and exam was identical to my current doctors. The only difference was that he wanted me to take a more conservative approach to dealing with the injury. Ive done that and I am no better off.

After completing all the recommendations, made by the second opinion doctor, I am still looking at my second surgery. Something I am not happy about. It involves removing part of the ulna and doing a fusion of the DRUJ.

Now the ins. co. is having a tiffy, because this thing is taking so long. They don't realize that their micromanaging is the cause of the majority of the delays.

I am sorry for the rambling. I am just fed up with this whole situation and at this point, I could probably write a book about it.

Thanks for your reply!

Wayne
