Stove pellets for mouse bedding?

carol

Down with the sickness
OK, I'm one of those that can't post in the feeder's section. I just about wrote a book yesterday and was very discouraged to loose everything while I got a notice saying my message was too short. :(

Soo.....
Long story short, I checked out a bag of stove pellets the other day, claimed to have no additives (100% wood product). It looks just like the wooden pellet horse bedding I use for my mice. It costs about the same ($6 for 50lbs) but the hardware store is a lot closer than the feed store. Anyone try it?

I've never even heard of such stuff, but if the ingredients are nothing known to be harmful, I would say "go for it!", and then would check it out myself as $6 for 50 pounds is cheaper than what I'm currently using!

I've used both but the horse pellets are a little easier for me to get at the feed stores so that's the route I go. I did notice, however, that the stove pellets seem to be a little more sawdusty than the horse pellets but that is just a casual observation...no scientific data was taken.

You know Carol, I think Cheryl used a similair product.. I got some from here before she moved.. I can't find it any more and I had the same thought as you.. Stove pellets might be the same drn thing..

Regards.. Tim of T and J
