I have two snakes that i want my brother to start his breeding projest with. His goal is to use 0.1 Bloodred and 1.0 Anery Blood Het Stripe to eventually get Bloodred Stripes and anery Bloodred Stripes. However I have no experience in genetics so how would he go about doing this.

It sounds like you have some beautiful snakes. Producing Striped Bloods and Anery Striped Bloods is definitely a fun project. If you breed your Bloodred and Anery Bloodred het Stripe together, you get:

50% Bloodred het Anery, Stripe
50% Bloodred het Anery

Of course, you would need to breed the Bloodred het Anery, Stripe snakes together to get Bloodred stripes and Anery Bloodred Stripes. Unfortunately, you won't be able to tell which of the Bloodreds in your clutch are het Anery AND Stripe. If you can get a female stripe to breed to your Anery Blood het Stripe, then the hatchlings would be:

50% Striped het Anery, Bloodred
50% Normal het Anery, Bloodred, Stripe

Then if you hold back some of the striped het anery, bloodred and breed them together, you get:

25% Striped het Anery, Bloodred
12.5% Striped Bloodred het Anery
12.5% Anery Striped het Bloodred
12.5% Striped het Bloodred
12.5% Striped het Anery
6.25% Anery Striped Bloodred
6.25% Striped Bloodred
6.25% Anery Striped
6.25% Striped

All of these percentages don't take into account any other hidden hets the snakes may have. Good luck with the project.

:-offtopic But 'granit stripe', sounds like a really expensive counter top. :grin01:

Not to say I don't like it, but that's what jumped into my brain when I saw it..

It's Anerythristic Diffused Stripe.
Joe has used the term "diffuse"? Is this an oddity or am I thinking of the wrong person?
