striped?

well she was only keeping it on hold 2day,
if i punch air holes in it shouldnt it be ok, etc
also we do hjave the sealent stuff somewhere so if i use that then the snake cant escape the main tank, and the main tank is fine at the moment and set up.i can put things in anyway 2 make sure he doesent escape the only placve i think he wil is where the thermostat probe wire goes up .
if i put sealent on now wil it be ok to still put the snake in,i know hes living in a tub at the pet shop anyway.

I really think that as suggested by other members you should wait. It's not fair on the snake if the tank isn't safe / set up correctly and you don't want to bring it home for one day to find it's gone the next.

I could have it in the tub when im not around to rpevernt escape and the tank when i am?
there must be something in the house/ i can buy from the pet shop,
even if its just a new little tank :S??

just looking at the tank now the only hole im bothered about is the big one for the red light but tbh thats fine i can do that i was bothered about the ones in corners but he would have to push the whole tank lif off to get out so sure he wont so it should be ok :D

Excited

I know you are excited Phillip! I was to the day I went and got my snake....and I am 36! But, please keep that excitement in check and make sure your new baby will be safe and sound. After all, what is the point in spending the money to get the little guy and not have a safe enviroment in place for him. That is a waste of time, money and most importantly unsafe for your newest family member.

I don't think the members on this site are trying to be hostile or fun suckers. They truly love snakes and truly care about their safety....they are just looking out for the snake. Thats all!

When placing a thread on here, try and be a little more coherent. All of your posts are almost intelligable. I had to read them 3 or 4 times to try and make sense of it, and most of the time I couldn't figure out what you were trying to say. Just slow down and put some thought into your threads, posts or comments. That way people are more eager to help you with your new little guy. I am not saying this to me mean, I am truly just trying to help you get what you need from this forum!

Again, take their advice for the safety of the little guy! They are giving it to you because they care!

Good Luck with your snake and we can't wait to see pictures!

it has arrived il get some pics soon need a name :D and meant to be a orange striped corn snake
is there such thing as orange striped haha

Amelanistic means lacking black pigment (coloring). If your snake has no black on it anywhere including the eyes, it is an amel(anistic) stripe. If it has dark coloration then it can be many other things, but probably a normal stripe.

more on its way

Now THAT my friend, is a great looking snake! Someone with more experience will be able to ID it for you.... Great pick!

phillip- it will look like a normal stripe. everyone has told you they can not tell you what YOUR snake will look like b/c everyone is different. Your parents didnt know what you would look like when you were first born. Yes- it is a normal (classic) however you want to say it Stripe. each one looks different. No 2 are the same. the best way to find out is watch it grow and it will change. but until then you can wonder all you want no one can tell you. you can look at pictures on this site and others but no one will know what yours will look like EXACTLY.

i know im just wondering if in gerneral do the stripes change colour or the actual bodies?
do they look like normals

yes- they have the normal colors. i dont understand what you mean by the body changing. of course it grows... but it doesnt grow arms or anything. the best advice i can tell you is look at your baby.... then look at pics of adult normal stripes. thats the best advice i can give you. sorry if it isnt what you wanted.

no thamnks i just wondered what it woul look like lots of pics on net are so different i know they vary but just wondered if thy look just like normal

Just to give you a frame of reference, phillip, do a search for Miami Phase Corn Snakes and Okeetee Corn Snakes. See how different they look?

For one, they could have a background color from grey to brown to tan-ish to orange! they can have thick black borders, thin black borders, medium black borders. They can have bright red saddles or dark red saddles.

What I CAN tell you is that the stripe and motley genes seem to reduce SOME pigment, so yes, you will likely have a "bright" snake. But will we be able to tell you if we mean "bright" as in bright orange background with deep red stripes, or "bright" as in reduced melanin, but an otherwise adorable combination of dark tans, burgundy, and some orange? NO!

It's a beautiful little one. Please, look into adjusting your set up. If money is an issue, a smaller tub, with holes, an undertank heater, rheostat/thermostat, thermometer and hydrometer, and substrate (newspaper or paper towels are fine!) with plenty of hides (paper/toilet paper rolls, boxes that had food in the, cut-down plastic cups) and a water dish (cut down MORE plastic cups!) will do until that perfect cage comes along.

In the future, BEFORE you reserve the snake, please come and ask for LOW COST suggestions for your habitat for your little one, as many of the members here have GREAT ideas for filling out those things that you don't HAVE to spend the money on. (Heater, thermostat/rheostat (dimmer), thermometer/hydrometer of good quality are REQUIRED.... everything else? IMPROVISE!!)
