I am deeply sorry for you loss. That was a great looking snake. It looks very very bizarre in that he is extremely "wavy". Sorry but I have never seen this and have no idea what happened. Maybe he ingested something toxic and it acted like a poison or something? I don't know. But good luck in trying to find out.

(also, try not using all caps; it's hard to read your post).

Ahhh that's sad. Sorry to heard that.
The bedding was paper towel or something like that, right?.
In the pictures it looks like he has to many curves?? or kinks. :shrugs:
Sorry I can't help. It was a good looking snake too.

the "wavy" looks was how i found him!really strange almost like hed just froze ands died, there was nothing for him to ingest other than the tissue and that was intact?? really puzzling?
(thanks for the ALL CAPS)

yeah bedding was kitchen roll....plain so theres no question of ink poisoning.. the kinks are the real puzzler has been a perfect snake for the last year since i got him fed on time everytime, temps fine nothing to shock so to speak.....just so sudden....gutted

Sorry for your sudden loss! I think the 'waves' are from the muscles mot having tension on them anymore.... i never saw a dead snake but sometimes when a snake is very 'relaxed' you see some 'waves' too....

Sometimes they just die withoung being ill first... it is a pity, but, at the other hand, being ill for a long time and then dying would maybe even have made it worse for the snake...

I've heard of snakes having seizures due to high temps but if your temps were ok then it couldn't have been that, just one of those things i suppose...

I would bring him to a vet and have a necropsy done, thats the only way to find out. The way he is laid out it seems he injested some kind of toxins.
.
Sorry for your loss, We hope you the best!

ok thanks....

I too would get a necropsy done. Make sure if you're going to do that, you only refridgerate not freeze...Freezing will damage the tissue. Looking at him, it almost looks like bulges. I'm wondering if he developed some sort of sepsis and it took him out. Possibly from an infection somewhere. Sometimes there's no reason for it, these things just happen. Very sorry for your loss though. He was beautiful.

corn died today

Hi, I just found my snake dead in the evening, he was stiff and wavy. He was totally fine and active. The temp etc are all regulated with thermostats etc. He was all wavy (just like your corn in the pic). He also had 2 dark spots and swellings in his belly. Am sorry for your loss as I know how awful it is loose one. I bought mine a month ago. He had no mites etc. He had not eaten for the last 2 weeks. This is so depressing. It would be great if we could chat more as I would like to know more about the circumstances involved around the death of your corn. Wishing you a happy new year ahead.
