Sorry Lil but i should point out that Diablo knows Sparkle form a UK forum. Diablo is NOt Nerys' alter ego as Diablo is male nad Nerys is errr most definitely not!

I have ocntact with them both via the UK forum and Diablo is a respected leo breeder as is his partner and Nerys is a well respected exotics keeper with knowledge nad experience not only in exotic mammals, snakes, lizards, raptors and domestic animals but also form an angle of medicinal treatment and other such issues. Neither of them hesitiate to help people where they can - I know this of Nerys as she has ben oneo f my most egulalrly called upon friends int he herp community for the last year or more.

I am friends with Lynn and I know that she started this with the best of intentions. I do worry however whether she is being unduly attacked and if she didn't actually receive a little nidge or 2 form other people to make her original post ont he UK based forum.

just keeping my fingers crossed for a positive outcome and the snakes health getting back on track :(

oooo touchy so what your saying is that what sparkle had said about me on RFUK was acceptable well how about you and sparkle both join hands because you have just created a big storm for yourselves. I was the one who was trying to help you out and have been speaking with a expert in this area of PMV but obviously your only bothered about yourself and no one else.

Elle - regardless of other people's opinnions, surely moving this into a limited access area is only being spiteful towards those people who don't have a paid subscription? I am sur emany other people will gain from the results of the autopsy done on your royal and subsequently any further investigations to Lynn's snakes.

We all have our fingers crossed that its not the PMV and its just a RI. Thanks for your kind words btw :D Oh and yes Nerys is def not male lol.

Where are you getting your information from? Can you please confirm how you 100% know and claim that Windsor died from an RI? And no he didn't die from it, he was euthanised. I did not allow him to die from his condition.

Can you also confirm you are 110% sure there is no paramyxovirus in the UK?

Elle, have the results from the Post Mortum came back yet? Speaking from an unbiased perspective I think it's you obligation to post any and all results that come back to you. If you don't trust the results you've gotten back, can you have other tests done by other vets? This might be a good idea anyway just in case.

Please let everyone know whats going on, if not for any other reason other than for the safety of the animals in question, which you have explicitly stated several times is your #1 concern.
 
The results will be made public, but the actual report will not be released. Its a legal document which I am not prepared to spread all over the internet or have released to individuals via my vet.

Elle, i think that hiding this thread in the paying members forum will only make things worse. It's obvious a few people think that you're holding back info and i think it'll get worse by trying to hide this thread.

Elle, There is PMV within the UK which is lying dormant. If there was signs of the virus then DEFRA would of been informed which they havent.
 
Sorry Elle if you feel I have been untowards in my words here but I just don't see why you would request this be moved.

I may be new here but I am pretty sure that admin and mods ont his site have the authoritive knoledge to know how to control any situation they are faced with and I don't get why you would wish it to be moved.

I know htere have been some nasty bits and I do understand how heartbroken you are over Windsor but there is also some valuable info posted that could benefit other keepers who odn't have the privilege of having a paid subscription.
 
I think you should all lay off Tula... Not a single one of you on here or on RFUK has any right to demand anything ... If the results are sooooooo bad that you all worrying about then yes i think she should report it to DEFRA.

Lets use an example here !!!

She gets the results and they are bad right... she gives them to people on an online forum ..... WHAT THE HELL COULD ANY OF YOU POSSIBLY DO TO BRING AN END TO THE PROBLEM.

Who do you think you people are. (no offence to CS.COM this is aimed at the A.Holes at RFUK). What are you all super vets or something ?
 
Actually, if you read the RFUK thread, a lady onthere who works with disease notifcaiton procedures has already stated that DEFRA are not concerned witht he outbreak of PMV in reptiles and only the pigeon strain type 1 is accountable by them.

It does affect the people responding acutally too - I have just sold 2 snakes to a gentleman near me which had previously been in contact with Lynn ( and she knows how appreciative I am that she helped me out ) so subsequently, if this is something that is contact contagious, I stand to have problems my end as my buyer has a snbake colleciton of his own. Regardless of quarantine, if it is able to transmit via direct contat with hair, clothes, tubs etc then several hundred people may stand to have problems.

And no I am no super vet just a concerned keeper as are most of the people who have become heated over this!

We could all inform people probably a darn site quicker than DEFRA for a start.
 
I'm not being funny mele, but i can see that opinions on both sides of this have equal validity. If Elle didn't want peoples opinions then she should have kept this private.
 
I'm sorry, Elle, but I can't really think of a good reason to move this thread. It's already in the most appropriate sub-forum now. Which paid subscription thread would be MORE appropriate?

I'm also reluctant to lock this thread, as Rich Z. has made it clear that he's not a proponent of locking threads unless absolutely necessary.

well get people to halt moving snakes around, call a halt to private trading, re-inforce quarantine procedures.

things like that I guess as that would help IF it is PMV or anything else that's highly contagious and impossible to treat for that matter (which I also hope it's not)

I understand what you are saying and to be honest i cant be bothered running through all the posts on RFUK.

However say if i would have put a post up in the forums to say my pet just died possibly from a virus, that would not make me obligated to post results to none quallyfied people to scrach there heads.

To be honest if i got that kind abuse i wouldnt give anyone didly squat.

How is one report from one person in the UK going to make any difference ?
