Tank arrangement, how do you do it?

DogStar5988

Up all night
I have a very small apartment and I am trying to convince myself that I could get/fit another snake (I really want a bloodred:)) and cage somewhere. I have heard of people stacking their vivs and I was wondering how that would work, or if it can work with 20L gal Critter Cages? Or however you may do it. I want to stick with a glass viv, rather than a sterilite container. I really cannot add any more pieces of furnature I would have to stick with what I have and that isn't much. So if you have some pictures of how you fit everything that would be great. ;)

This rack for 20 longs doesn't cost much- around $50?

Here's a 20L squeezed into a wall space in the kitchen that is pretty small- all my feeding containers, moist hides, aspen shavings, tortoise stuff, etc. are in that cupboard.

You can also use kitchen counters- snakes look very pretty in the kitchen!

If you use wooden vivs with sliding doors at the front, you can stack up at least 3 of these. I currently have 3 vivariums all in the space of 36", as I stack upwards. :)

Thanks, I'll have to figure out something before the reptile show in April.......just in case I come home with something:);)

I'm thinking about these T221's- because I don't want bins, either. They measure 24x24, but if you had a table, or even a deep dresser, you could just stack them up.

I _could_ squeeze in more furniture or stands or whatever, but I already have two more snakes I want, so if I could squeeze in another wrought iron rack, it'd already be filled- that's why I'm looking at the plastic stackable caging now.

Just in case? You KNOW you will :grin01:

If you have tanks which have their access through the top, then obviously you won't be able to stack anything directly on top of it. However, have you considered getting a front-opening tank which goes under your current tank? If you want to stick with a glass tank, and not a wooden one, well, you can get glass tanks with sliding front doors too. I have one for my inverts. Give me a shout if you want pictures, or help finding these tanks.

If I convince my parents my house will be overflowing with corns soon, so these are the stackable cages I'm looking at:

\

They are ventilated through the side posts, have space for lighting and uth's, open through a sliding glass door in the front, and are only $15 more than a critter cage. What more could you want!!

I have three of the visionariums and about to get a fourth and I love them. They save space and look fantastic and the heat from the surrounding tanks helps with the ambient temperature of all of the tanks. There's my two cents :) and here's a pic of the three i have now

Try the tanks the long way

I live in a tiny college apartment (my room is a glorified closet) and I fit two tanks by arranging them the long way.

Good luck!

:-offtopic Off-topic again, but both my snakes love the tubes! You can't see it in the picture, but my desk is right next to my tanks and they seem to enjoy watching me type. My butter girl also likes to sleep in there all day; I thought she'd like her nice dark hides, go figure.

Im also thinking about buy a pair of corns at the next All Ohio Show and i was wondering what would work better to keep babies from getting out of the tanks? I have a Vision tank right now but im thinking about selling it. I also like the hanging tubes how do you secure them?

I tie a piece of string or rubber-band through a hole in the tube and then safety pin the other end to the screen on the lid. It works very nicely and it's cheap!
