Well, I got MOST of it done today. I still have to browse through a bunch of photos in my achive to see if there are any more that I want to put up in those individual cultivar listings, but that can happen as I find time over the next several days.

Yes, I am doing the 50 percent pre-hatching sale again this year. Details can be found here:

50 percent sale rules

In a nutshell:
  • Sale is only in effect until July 1, 2005
  • Minimum order of $600 prior to the discount being applied (sorry about this, but it IS a wholesale offering....)
  • NO cancellations or changes midstream
  • Coupon code is 2005

Anyway, there are a bunch of new photos up in those cultivar sections and some new animals I am offering for the first time this year. If you get a chance, check it out.

And PLEASE, I am really bleary eyed from doing that darn thing. When you find mistakes (notice I didn't say "if"!), please let me know. I just didn't have the time to proof read most of it, I am embarrassed to admit.

Thanks.

Two things:

1) Is there anything excluded from the 50% off sale? I figured there would be, but it doesn't say anything about that, so I'm curious.

2) Are the anery mots $75, or is that a typo?

I really don't see any mistakes. Glad to see the new pricelist up. I like the new addition of picture, too. Good stuff, Rich!

All of the ones that I found that says 300 says after the discount which is 600 before the discount.

Hey Rich,

Will there be any kind of a sale on the 2004 babies at some point? Just curious :)

Thanks!

Erin - Rich has already discounted most of the remaining '04s - twice. And they're going quick!

Sorry!

I have just started looking recently. I try not to torture myself when I don't have money to spend. :p

Thanks for letting me know!

Yeah, I did cut prices on most of them. Some, quite substantially. I don't see any further cuts or discounts in the future. Matter of fact, some of them might very well get taken off of the surplus list and marked as keepers as I watch them changing as they grow up. I must be REALLY nuts to have those Amel Motleys het Opal (Lavender) still on the surplus list...... :crazy02:

What, one out of four, statistically, could be snakes (Opal Motleys) that I am selling for $1,500 this year? :crazy02: :crazy02: :crazy02:

Hey Rich,

We are putting together an order of between 15 and 20 hatchlings. How much would shipping increase for say 20 hatchlings as opposed to the $60 for smaller orders?

Thanks!

The shipping charge is $60 no matter what the size order. On small orders sent to neaby addresses, I think I make a couple of bucks on the shipping charge. On larger orders going across country, I lose some bucks (I just sent a double sized styro [17x17x20] to California yesterday which will probably cost me a bundle!). I figure in the end it all works out to where I break even. At least I hope so. It's just too complicated on me and my customers to have custom shipping charges for every order. Plus I really don't know from one invoice to the next what I am going to be charged by FedEx anyway. I probably need to reevaluate my shipping charge every so often.

Did I answer your question?

Is there anyway you can link a fill your own shipping charge thing to Serpenco, before you order?

Say you make up a chart with the different sized styro containers and the approximate weights and then you click it and Fed Ex pops up with a shipping quote--much like that on Ebay---and maybe have Serpenco add that specific shipping charge to the order, instead of the $60 flat fee? I know that Amazon and Half.com do that for textbook orders, I'm just wondering if you could do that too?

Would that be easier for you, or no? I just figure that at least that way you're not losing any money on cross-country shipments that no doubt cost you more than $60 to ship.

Who knows, just thought I'd throw that out there.

Thats an interesting idea. Rich will definately be losing money shipping my 17 hatchlings here to Oregon and I feel bad about that especialy since I am getting them half price. :(

All of the times I have tried the online calculators for shipping, they really were not all that accurate. Generally all they do is to give the person collecting the money for shipping a rough rule of thumb to go by.

Matter of fact, as soon as I get in my latest FedEx bills, I am going to look over the charges to see if I need to change my shipping charge. I would hate to think I am losing money on EVERY box going out of here! It's bad enough that I pay for the boxes and heat/cold packs as well, which has to be reflected in the cost of shipping out a box.

BTW, did anyone notice that the spell check function has been installed here?

I noticed it. Good stuff, if people will actually use it.

I was actually going to make a post on it since I saw it and said 'hey, I've never seen that before!'

You'd think with all the business you do with FedEx, they could help you out with a shipping calculator. I've never actually used them online and then compared it to a real bill, but it'd be an interesting thing to do just to see how far off the actual charge and the shipping calculator.

Do your shipping bills show the weight of package and the destination?

By the way, I can't even imagine what your FedEx bills look like

Did we get the edit feature back, or is that just available on this particular forum? And while I'm on the question---you in ghost mode or something?

Yes, I am in ghost mode. Keeps the cretins who want to post garbage off balance if they don't know for sure when I am logged in here. ;)

As for the shipping stuff, if I could get FedEx to just stop dimensionalizing my boxes things would be a LOT better. When they dim out to 6 pounds or more, that really skyrockets the price.
