The lowly cricket...

It's Jager time!
These wee beasties freak me out more than the spidies ever will, but they do have rather cute eyes don't they?

Supernova (B. vegans) - She is slightly obsessed with crickets... in her tummeh.

I kinda like crickets. I think they're fascinating. I don't like them hopping all over my floor though.

I really don't like them, icky smelly things. But when I see them like this, they are almost as fascinating as the T.. Great photography!

I think it's the fear of not knowing that gets me. When I see closeups of T's and other bugs I'm like ahhh soo THATS what it looks like, thats not so bad.

Great shots! Supernova is stunning! How do you pick them up? There is a rose haired at work that I have been taking care of that nobody pays much attention to. I would love to pick her up but I don't know how. I wouldn't want either one of us to get hurt. I don't think she has ever been held or at least on extreme rare occasions.

I just coax superova onto my hand using the feeding tongs or a pen or something like that to gently touch her rump/back legs. She moves on freely...

Elle, Supernova is gorgeous!!

I finally decided on what I want, If I have the extra money this april at an expo I am going to attend I want to get an Antilles pinktoe (Avicularia versicolor). I think they are just SO stunning, but I was wondering do you know if thats a good starting T or not?

I'm such an ijet sometimes....
At first I thought Supernova was one of Elle's friends and Supernova was an online nic.....

Instead I find out Supernova is a very big scary creepy fascinating interesting and oddly-beautiful-in-her-own-way SPIDEY!!

I don't really like crickets. They're like filthy, hopping cockroaches. But I have to admit that NomNomNom is kind of cute in macro. Can't say the same for the spider... :shudder:
