The most impractical snake?

JNugent

Addicted..
Obviously we're all here for our love of corns and I'm sure we all own many other species of snakes/reptiles. What I've been wondering is, if you could, what is the most impractical snake(s) or other reptileyou wish you could own but know there's just no good reason to? Being a self proclaimed rattlesnake nut I would have to say a nice Neotropical rattler(crotalus durissus), or a nice purple Humantlan (crotalus scutalatus salvini).. or maybe a Red Pygmy.. (sistrurus miliarius).. Hmm.. so many choices.. Anyone else wanna bite on this?

Honestly I can't think of a one....nothing else appeals to me the way corn snakes do.....

I Love Boa's!!
But have no room for them..
I want and have owned, but practicality says no!

Nice picks.. keep em coming. I'm just now getting the new significant other open to the idea of ANY more snakes than the ball I have now. When I met her, she was deathly afraid of all snakes and slowly, she's coming around. I've got the go ahead to get a few new corns and have a mini-snake room at the house so I'll take what I can get.. I'd say it's good progress though!

I want a Lavender Retic sooooo badly! But I don't have the room, nor the strength to handle a snake that size... and I live alone, so there's nobody here to help me with it. :( I'd also like an Albino Burmese, Red-Tail Boa, and a few other impractically large snakes & lizards.

Don't Redtails just get 5-6 ft.? I could be wrong, but a breeder at the reptile show told me so and tried to convince me that some, if not most can be kept in 30-40g depending on size. Of course I'm not planning on adding one of these to my collection anytime soon, but if I could I would.

Yeah, 5-6 ft is about average amongst CB these days. Females can grow larger, I've seen an almost 9 ft specimen in a serpentarium, I'm sure of WC stock.

a t-rex would be my number two choice, closely behind my number one choice of an Ankylosaurus
if going strictly by snakes then it would have to be a basilisk, because they have the best dialect of Parseltongue imho

Horned Lizards. I've loved them since childhood, and after researching their care, know I'll never be able to own one, because I can never properly provide for their needs.

I think a large, tame, dog-like Iguana would be fantastic. Unfortunately such a thing, in all practical senses, doesn't exist. I WOULD really like a pet millipede, but that seems somewhat practical . . . not to normal people, but to herpers.

They can be anywhere from 5-8+ feet, but they're MUCH heavier & stronger than even the largest Ball Python. To give you an idea of the size they can reach, here I am (5'6" female) with Brian Gundy's huge red-tail girl:

He said his back hurt from holding her all day... ;)

I love Boelen's Pythons but their size, cost and husbandry requirements are totally impractical for me.

I also love sea kraits but that's obviously not going to happen.

I kept giant millipedes as a kid- they were easy and fun! They live in the wild here- I was amazed the first time I saw them, after a rain! I was going crazy!!

def komodo!, burmese and retics anaconda's love the pok-a-dot effect lol..hmm..i want some camin's they are absolutely adorable!
