The official Black Milksnake thread!!

It's crazy how fast it happens. It seems like I blinked and he turned black! He's almost done now, which is pretty crazy. I kind of miss the tri-color, but I know I'm going to love seeing how big he's going to get. :)

i can't wait to see his growth and color change.

Caught my 2nd to youngest (Ashur) grabbin a drink after his meal last night :)

Ha yeah I know how that goes! I decided to try and measure once every month or 2 when I pull each snake out for a meal and write it down. Just so I can see their progress a little :) The piggy boy you see eating is about 51 inches now, the smaller guy pictured above taking a drink is 44 inches and my girl Ebony is at 54. Then of course my little miracle lady Nasya is bringing up the rear at 25 inches and going strong! I am holding out hope that they all make it to the 6 foot mark one day here!!

Very nice shots, Markus! They're all looking great! I'll have to get some updated shots of Joakim soon. He's getting darker and darker every time I see him. :)

Those are pretty big, I think my leg is around 3', so Coal has to be around 4' or so...

Very cool!! He is right around similar sizes as my guys then. I want em to get biiiiig though asap :)

Yep, if my guy eats two adult mice, or weanling ASF rats, he gets fed the following week, but if he eats two jumbo mice or an adult ASF rat, he skips a week, plus he skips the week he's really blue. I think he's growing at a regular rate, both length and width, without getting fat.

My two larger ones eat small rats every Thursday night and they look like they are gonna explode while getting those things down as you can see in those pics haha! But they are freaks when it comes to digestion...they dook those rats out by day 3 (Sunday) typically and are on the prowl for more food by Tuesday. I can barely keep up with them! The only time they skip is when they are in the deepest state of blue. But once the deep blue goes down a bit they will be looking for food even before they shed out.

Lol, yeah, he does too! Sometimes I'm amazed he can get that little head around them. Yeah, I avoid from deep blue on, as he'll shed in pieces otherwise, especially around his belly.

Awe man I hate the 100 piece sheds they like to do haha!!! Takes me forever trying to find it all! I just got a huuuuuge bulk bag of aspen so I'm just gonna toss all the bedding out from now on whenever they give me one of those sheds and replace it all with new aspen

Well, all three that I have are a little "jumpy or nervous" but never prone to biting. Just moving back and forth quickly. Once used to you holding them, they're pretty much like corns or kings... however, they're kept cooler than corns or kings (I don't have any heat for my black milks so the high for them is about 75 degrees).

GREAT snakes! I just think they're wonderful!!!

What's the longest you guys have had a pretty visible red/white pattern remaining? My male is approaching 3 years and last I checked it is still pretty visible. Actually, I think I'll go check on them now and see what's what.
