She does have kinks in the last 1/4-1/3 of her body, those areas look bumpy and just don't move right, but it doesn't slow her down except in a vertical climb up the tub wall. If she gets overexcited the end of her tail takes on a life of its own, curling around in random coils, so I think there's nerve damage/deformity to that end. She defecates normally and has never regurged (stay away Murphy), so it doesnt seem to affect her digestion.

Could you try to get a picture demonstrating this?

And do you think the kinks were caused from malnutrition or...?

I'll have to wait 'til she's digested, to get a picture of the mad coiling, but this is her tail relaxed. I don't know why, it could be genetic or in-egg development problems, from what I've read.

This may sound harsh, but If it were my snake and she was that badly kinked AND a non feeder I know where she would have gone :(

But I cannot commend you more highly on the work you have done with her. Its amazing how far shes come!

It doesn't sound harsh to me, if I'd hatched her it'd be a different story. But then you've had experience with trying to save a kinked baby too. I was honest with her owner that I didn't know how badly the kinks would affect her. She'd never eaten so we didn't even know if she'd be able to digest and poop when I started feeding her

I would never have given up on Skooge, she deserved a chance and shes done remarkably well with Janines help. Its amazing what shes done for her

Just so she doesn't get jealous, here's my first love, Diamond Lil

Hey, you know I said I would try my best to give her a chance for you. If I didn't known how much you care for her, I wouldnt have been so happy to help! I know that Skooge will be going back to a great owner. Can you post pics of her new, remodelled viv on here? so I can show her what she's aiming to go home to!

This is truly a great sight to see, especially since I saw a dead hatchling at Petco today when I went to buy pinkies. I wonder how many of these little ones could be saved if they got this kind of special treatment. You go, Skooge!

Thanks Sean. In doing this, I am aware that I may have 'cheated nature'. Skooge has a couple of kinks, but they don't impede her digestion as far as I can tell, and she is not going to be bred, her owner just wants her as a much-loved pet.
If I'd bred her, then I'd have been faced with the dilemma of whether I was prepared to keep her for as long as she lived if I couldn't find a suitable home. Knowing me, I'd have had a hard time deciding whether to euthanise or try to save her. Certainly something to think about before my own snakes are old enough to breed.
