Thermostats for racks

I just want to know what type of thermostats you all use for your racks?
Also what types do you recommend?
 
I love my Herpstat NDs on Animal Plastics Economy Plastic racks, with heat cable. I like being able to set high/low alarms. I don't use the night drop feature. Herpstat has excellent customer service.
 
Perhaps somebody can help me figure this one out. I've been looking at rack systems a lot lately to consolidate the snakes into one area, and also because I know I'll be getting more in the future...

Where is the best place to put the thermostat probe on a rack system?

In my experience, it depends on room temperature. You can tape it down (be sure to use foil tape) directly on the heat tape if you keep the room in the mid-70's or designate a tub to have the probe taped into. My issue with using the tub method is you either waist a tub by never putting an animal in it or if you do put an animal in it, you have to pull the tape and probe out every time you need to clean the tub, which I find an inconvenience. My reasoning behind the mid-70's room temperature with taping down the probe directly to the heat tape is that you will only need to run the thermostat 2-3 degrees higher to reach optimal temperatures in the tub while you would need to run it much higher in a cooler room.
