These boys followed me home from Cleveland...

Hallie

SNOW!!!!
Well, as many of you have probably seen, Trent bought new snakes at the Cleveland show...what you may or may not have known is I bought the future boyfriends for both of his girls. :D

So here they are, first up is the Vietnamese Blue Beauty. There was some discussion on Trent's thread that they might be Taiwans...but the breeder is pretty reputable, so as of now I'm believing her that they will become more blue with age...

And now the Caulker Cay boa. Isn't he precious!? Trent had to practically twist my arm off in order to get him (I was absolutely not bringing home any more snakes and we had already purchased the VBBs, so getting another was pretty much out of the question), but I am SO GLAD that he did. I love this little guy!!!

Enjoy!! :)

And if you haven't seen Trent's new additions...head on over here.

That boa is just stunning! Out of curiosity, how much were they? You could PM me if you like :) Also, which breeder did you get him from?

Amazing pick ups... congrats!!!!

Thanks Angela!!!!

Nice ones, Hallie!!! I love them both... just as I love both of Trent's!! LOL.

:) Thanks Fred. Don't you have a VBB? Or is it a Taiwan? Edit: Just checked your siggy...now I'm off to find pics of your VBB!!!

There they are.. Thats weird, Fred has a good point.. They do have quite a bit of yellow/green in them. Lol, we just suck at pictures. :)

Very possible...the lighting in my house is awful, so it is always hard to get accurate colors on any of the snakes. Well, if they turn out to be Taiwans, oh well, we'll just have to get VBBs at Daytona next year! ;) Did you get a chance to email Amy yet for pictures of the parents?

They followed you to PA so that they could have a shorter trip to me! Ship them monday please!

Followed my left cheek. Y'all suck at being anti-enablers! Seriously! Give me a call next time so I can give you my address so you can still buy something and not feel bad about it.

Heeeeeeeeck no!!

 Yeah, it was a super fail...anti-enabling is not our strong point...we're much better at enabling. :D

hmmm how far away from Danville, Pa are you? Might have to stop by and steal... uh I mean see your new and old snakes.

I hope you found my picks of Kokoro, Hallie. You'll see there's no "green" on her at all... BUT, I'm no expert! LOL.

Even if they do turn out to be TBS's, they're beautiful!!! I'd love to have a TBS (or a pair) again some day. LOL.

 I'm not sure...it isn't close, I know that...

I did (she's gorgeous!! but you already know that...). She is a lot bigger than these guys though. Robbie did say that they get more blue as they age, so maybe that's why neither are showing much blue?? Mine has a little more than Trent's, but not much. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Very beautiful snakes! Great finds.. but the Beauty snake are definite Taiwanese. The VBBs never have any green or yellow even at a young age. You bought a very nice one at that. I love our TBS and are looking to get a male to breed to her sometime soon. But here is a comparison for ya!

(Hey Fred.. this snake look familiar?!)

Unlike some corn morphs.. beauties keep the same colors and patters as they become adults.

Actually, VBBs as hatchlings are green. It helps them blend with their environment a bit better until they're a little older and more established. I asked several people the same question at several different shows when I saw baby VBB's that were green. They start the change to blue with their first shed, losing a bit more green with each shed. Look at the close up of the head. You can see the blue starting to come in.

LOL... Thanks for remembering Kokoro, Sheldon! :)

I guess we'll have to see - and we ALL love progression threads! When I bought Kokoro, she wasn't much bigger than either Trent's or Hallie's and didn't have any green on her at all.

It'll be fun to watch! :) Wish I could be Hallie or Trent right now!

Crazy... I learn something new every day on here. I have seen some really young VBB's around and they must of all had a shed or 2 already because they were just like an adult. At what point to they loose all the green?

Good question. LOL. I still haven't gotten a completely straight answer on that, because it all varies by how much each individual sheds. If they're power fed, and shed a lot, they lose the green rather quickly. If they're underfed and don't shed a lot, they keep the green for quite a while. But I think it's usually gone after the first couple months.

I tried to give some rep on this but I gave you some to recently I guess... But yea I'd love to learn more about the VBBs. I want to add one to our little zoo here in a bit. I'd like to have one next to our TSB.
