i fed my corns and king today and 1 of the baby corns after eating decided to go lay in its water dish and has been there for about 2 or 3 hours now and i was just wondering if that was normal for baby corns? this is my first time having snakes this young so im not used to their behavior yet

is the baby close to a shed? it could be soaking.
or possibly if the water is warm it may like it.
i've never had a corn that laid in its water bowl much

I have a few that like to soak in their bowls depending on how close to shed they are, or some do it if it gets a bit warm for them and they want to cool off. It all depends on the snake.

i wouldv thought it was cooling off but i had them inside all day while i was cleaning cages and feeding them ( i usually keep them on my back porch )

Are you serious? OK I know it's Florida and the temps are OK for corns there but I still can't see keeping a corn on the porch, I'd be worried about the snake getting attacked by ants or other critters, and if that happens they can't get away if they are stuck in a cage. Then if it's a glass tank and the sun hits it the temps would get way too high. That's just off the top of my head. I know there has to be other reasons not to keep snakes outside...

the porch is enclosed they r on a shelf and the blinds where the shelf is is always down (SUN CANT GET TO THEM!!!) and me and my family spend most of our time out there and im really getting sick of people on here saying how i take care of my snakes is wrong when THEY DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HOW THEY R KEPT

I have some that really like to sit in their water, and a few that will strictly poop IN the water dish and nowhere else lol. It's normal no worries =)
