I've been an active member here since I joined, and I've seen a lot of drama and fighting. Hell, I've caused some of it, so I feel qualified to tell you all where this line is.
When you cause the fabric of the forum grief, your there.
You will get a warning, maybe two, but that's it.
The mods do a thankless job for no reward. Rich will protect them if you cause them too much hassle. Publicly diss the mods at your own peril. Now we all know where this line is.

Sorry to contribute to the problem, but I agree that the thread has run its course.

Don't know about others but I've had a quiet exchange of PMs with the OP who now understands the situation fully. This thread was started (and updated) in good faith by a new member who only knows Wade in real life as a good guy and was unaware of his "colorful" web history when he made his posts. He's now fully informed, having done his own research and seen the situation for himself. Case closed I think.
 
I think Rich has made his thoughts on locking threads very clear. It is only to be done on rare occasions. You are free to stop reading it at any time.

WHAT??? Seriously? It's not mandatory that each and every post of every single thread be read on a daily basis?

Are you SURE about this?

It makes things so.......simple. So easy. It can't be accomplished with such ease as you imply, referring of course, to reading of crap when you don't want to.

So, just what, don't open the thread?

Hmmmm, I'm not sure this is possible, but I will ponder it and its possibilities.
 
That is actually one of the things I really like about this site...

I like to avoid censorship (of all kinds) unless there is a REALLY good reason for it, and I am happy that Rich seems to feel the same way.

I occasionally agree with some folks here.. I definantly agree with the above statement.. I have bumped heads with quite a few of you here, and well I got over and hopefully you all got over it too.. But the ole spidey sense is screaming at me and beating on the town hall bells is realing annoying when something does not seem to be what it is supposed to be..
