Unusual WC

Caught by me in South Florida, just a little ways from where I live. This boy is an unusual straw or copper color but my camera keeps washing the colors out.

Nice find David, almost looks like a caramel. I think Rich Z found his original caramel in a South Fl. pet store, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to take a guess that that may be something similar.

That is an absolutely wonderful find.. Are you going to releash it? Or are there laws pertaining to you being able to keep the snake in captivity?

Regards

Florida allows you to collect non-protected species such as corns for personal use. This one I am hoping to test breed him, I have a special female ready. Here she is.

Great looking snake, David. Is it just the picture angle, or is that head a little longer than the norm :shrugs:

Head does seem a tad bit longer now that you mention it *runs to the herp room to check*. Nope its pretty much normal.

O don't mind at all, I love seeing the natrual varience in WC specimen.. I have a load of photos on my harddrive of WC corns and such.

That one looks more like it has some of the Keys blood in it than carmel. Many end up a great golden color like that. Maybe it blew over in a hurricane. ;)

I just don't see it having the Keys blood this far north, I caught this corn in south/central FL, Port St. Lucie to be exact for those wondering....
