Update on my ratties!

I'm sorry for your loss.

My ac went out yesterday while I was at work and my 2+ year old, betumoured sweetie tatertot passed away. Now all I have is my skittish (but still sweet) head-tilt girl, Allie. She's definitely a little lost without her buddy.

Can I ask a favor? Could you post a pic of the cage covered in hardware cloth? I'm going to have to cover my new girl's cage in it too. That seems to be the thing every rat keeper recommends but nobody likes to post pictures of the finished product.

We bought two rat girls and one rat boy two weeks ago... One girl is a reg rat while the other female and male are both dumbo ear rats. My original plan was to use them as breeders... now all that has changed as they have won my heart. I can't believe how smart and lovable they are... What originally was bought for breeding purposes has now changed into part of the family. I love them so much and just couldn't imagine not having rats as pets now.. My, how things have changed as first I was afraid of snakes (we now have three - two corns and a ball python) and rat ( we have three babies at the moment and hopefully more to come...). I will now have to get my boy fixed as I just can't separate him from the girls as they all get along so well.

I went to the pet store where I got them and all the baby rats that where in the same cage are gone now.... They were all suppose to be feeders, but were actually fancy rats and dumbo eared rats. I imagine some were sold as snake food or some pets. I think ours were lucky as they have found a forever home....
