Hello just need some input on my temp probe on the warm side its unde the aspen on top of the uth it reads 98.9 I have the temp control all the way down the analog temp gauge mounted on the tank wall on the warm side reads 80 so should I ditch the uth because the temp seems high

Thats pretty hot but if you ditch the UTH your warm side won't be warm anymore. I would get some spacers and raise the tank up an inch on all 4 sides. Are your corns burrowers and what is the surface temps above the substrate right on top of it? If you don't have anything to raise the tank up just use less of the UTH or something for now like only on 1/3 of the cage so your guys can get away from the heat. Mine stays between 82-86 with the cages raised.

What kind of UTH are you using? You need to get a thermostat for it. A cheap but ok one is the ZooMed 500R. Look for it on-line, not at a store. Or you can build your own rheostat.

Thanks for the input great site people here I need to contribute to the site.I raised the tank an inche it brought the temp to 88 so far under the aspen I have a temp control knob I have it turned to the low setting.oh and off the subject I caught a lizard today and put it in the feeding tank with him he loved it nice snack lol

Oh yea the temp on top of aspen is 81 to 82 and yes he loves to hide under aspen most of the time even in a hide

The heat pad is made by zoo med and the temp control I bought to plug it into is made by zoo med

I think you mean zoo med and you need a better one those stink, but keeping the temp raised up should work until you get a better one. When Nanci said lizards carry parasites she meant do not feed wild caught animals because they can infect your healthy snake with worms, parasites, mites, and other stuff that sucks to have to deal with. Or at least that was my interpretation.
