Ya, I wanted to make a post even though it isn't most note worthy thing to ever happen.

FinFang is sticking his little head out of his hide, watching me work on my web site. Feeding day isn't for another 3 days. What makes this so cool is that he is in blue, his eyes are cloudy, he's a little dirty looking, and he's fine with watching things *anyway*.

Gawd, I love that little snake.

Anyway, anyone else have little snake behaviors they love?
(when it comes to Thanagar, all he has to do is eat without problem and I want to throw a party, the brat).

Since I've moved the snakes into the new rack in the front room, Belle, Kate and Annie, in particular, all spend 90% of the time at the front of their tubs, watching whats going on! I checked it wasn't a temperature issue, it just seems that they are responding to having a more active area to people and dog watch! From Sundance's place she's next to head height when I'm at the 'puter now, so I keep finding her staring out at me when I'm typing :)

The only one right now that is active is Niblet. All the others are little and prefer to stay hidden from the creatures that could eat them..

But Niblet does seem interested in what is going on in the world beyond the glass. This snake is very active. He seems to rest from about 2 AM until about 10 AM and then is active on and off during the day and evening. I used to think it was because he was hungry, now I just think he is searching for something. Maybe a mate I dont' know, but I sure do like seeing him more often...

So you asked what did we like.... Well, the sun comes through the window at about 5:30pm Niblet is always out on a rock with his head up at the sun... I like that part the most!

Freyja has the interesting es-kah-pe behavior. All the time. It's a bit cute and very annoying, lol. As they say in Spanish, she lost herself to me (I didn't lose her! ><) twice, and has been recovered. Twice. Other than that, both Kel and Freyja don't really do anything abnormal. Tai is quite cute though. He has a sort of cross between the hatchling and spying behavior.... He has a tendancy to stick his head out of his hide and rest it there all day watching, unless he sees something moving. He pops his head back inside, and then if the moving thing comes closer, he just pop it out again and stare for a while. It's adorable! :p

both of my pythons will watch me in my room, but my bearded dragon is the most hilarious! she loves coming out so she will walk back and forth in her tank to follow me!

I think she associates coming out with those wax worms she seems to enjoy so very much!

I have a number of observer snakes. Lila pokes her head out of her hide reliably every night. I have caught Inez peeking out from the "underbrush" more frequently now that she is in a bin way up at the top of the rack. Maizey is out from afternoon on. Cherry is almost always out, day or night. She is going to have a blast with the refrigerator delivery next Saturday. I love that I can "call" Maizey, Choco and Cherry out, if they are hiding. The Boys- Jasper and Pepper hatchlings- are in my bedroom. They come out cruising every evening. The Stripe Girls- Ruby and Calli, are rarely if ever seen. Lily has spying perfected- she can see me, but it's very hard for me to spot her. Jasmine is the climber- she makes her way around the viv all night- through the vines, up on the ledge, around the floor- pausing to lounge around in full sight, or going for a dip in her water bowl.

Cheerio varies where she lays. Sometimes she lays out across her whole viv, sometimes she stays in one hide for a day.
One thing I like that she always does is investigate, not hide, when you move things in her viv. Anytime I do something in her home she comes out to check it out. I don't think it's food-related, she gets fed on a paper towel and KNOWS what that means.
