WASPS!

Elusive

Totally irrelevent.
My room has wasps, lots and lots of wasps. I've killed so many i've lost count! I beleive we sealed them off from going in, but there's a hive somewhere with a lot of wasps. Its really freaking me out, and yesterday we cought our first mouse, we released it outside and hopefully we wont see it every again (unlikely). I took out an old wasp nest last week, but I cant find the new one, I have no idea where they are coming from. This morning I was heard throughout the house screaming and holldering, at about 6 am. Two wasps + me in a bed. I killed the wasps, because i'm mean. I got bit 12 times in total. 4 on my right arm and 8 on my left arm. Ugh, I dont want to go to sleep in my bed tonight. Do you guys here on CS.com have any suggestions for finding and killing all the wasps? I kill at least 10-20 daily. They are also the hardest buggers to kill, I cut one in half and it still bit me! I now have a flyswatter to kill them all.

Agh! I hate wasps! :angry01:

Get a stethoscope and listen to the wall all over your room when you find em make a hole in the wall big enough for a vacuum and suck em all up.

I'd call an exterminator. Not dealing with wasps myself would be well worth the cost in my book. Good luck, sounds scary..

I'm with Tom, I'd call an exterminator and quick! I'm not afraid of wasps or bee's but to have THAT many in my home I'd be freaking out also!
Good luck with getting rid of them and let us know how it goes.

Are you sure these are wasp? Wasp don't bite, they sting and they sting hard. 12 stings from normal wasp is enough to possibly cause a reaction. Also, it's awfully cold and wasp aren't normally out this time of year. Not saying your wrong just seems odd for wasp to be out and active in the cold time of year.

I've been stung dozens of times (30+), so I'm not afraid of wasps... BUT, living with them is another deal altogether. Call an exterminator to deal with the problem.

They could be anywhere inside the walls of your house or even underground close to an entry way. Unless you deal with it the right way, you're never gonna get rid of them.

Maybe it's still warm enough for them to be active because the hive is inside?
I'm allergic... I would go stay in a hotel, call exterminator and not set foot in that house until they were all dead... but then again they could kill me. Sounds scary is right!

Are you renting or do you guys own the place? I've had a bee problem in the past (as a property manager) and the owners had to take care of the problem for the tenant 100%. In fact I think you'll find that they jump at the chance, no one wants a lawsuit!

They are wasps for sure, wasps dont leave stingers and I'm not allergic to them but my arms were swollen for a bit, we have medicatioin and stuff and we put it over each sting or bite and it was okay, it still hurt like crazy though. I want to get rid of them, but i'm worried, should I remove my animals from the house, we have lots of pets. :(

our family owns the place.

Oh, yes... if the animals aren't in a covered tank or such, I would move all of them out. Wasps CAN overwhelm small animals.

Seriously, an exterminator can take care of that problem quicker than you can move your animals out. I don't think they would even have to tent it, they just find where the hive is and kill them at that spot.

If they did want to do more extensive spraying though, definitely move the animals out. So sorry you have to go through this.

well they arent entirely small, just the snake, the snake is in her enclosure and I doubt they'll be able to get into her tank, the wasps are only downstairs and only one dog usually goes down there, my Beagel Mix, he's mixed with a springer spaniel and he's an okay size, he eats them.

Well, I wasn't only concerned with the wasps and your animals... but I was also concerned with the pesticides they'll use as well.

Hope you can solve this situation soon... and painlessly.

Me and my dad have a pretty good idea where they are coming from ( the down stairs bathroom, which is right next to my room) The down stairs bathroom is always pretty warm and we are going to set up a wasp bomb and we're going to try to get them all out, if that doesnt work then we'll go to desperate measures.

It's funny that you should have this problem today... You see what's airing on the Simpson's this evening??? All about Killer Bees invading the town. Kinda funny, huh?

I have a hive of wasps living in my tortoise pen. I treat them with respect, ie don't weed whack too close, and they watch me intently but don't attack. Kind of creepy. I have never tried to get rid of them.
