Weekend trip to Havasu

Lovin2act

I gave my wife herps
Went out to Havasu this past weekend with my wife and her family. Brought our dogs and had a good ol time! Caught myself two snakes, a nice very pink Coachwhip that was swimming in a shallow cove, and a nice sized gopher near our camp site. Snapped a shot of a cool little lizard too, pretty sure it was a young desert iguana.

Yeah that was a really cool snake!!! My wife reeeally loved it too! Even took her first bite to be able to hold it

Awesome pics! It looks like you all had a great time. That pink coachwhip is a cool looking snake! It's cool to see other women into reptiles and not just those of us who frequent the board here..:)

Definitely a good time!!! And yes I am very stoked I found a lady who not only puts up with my reptile passion, but also gets her hands dirty with me in support :)

My wife yelled at me for saying this was her first snake bite. She reminded me that she got bit by her baby Kenyan Sand Boa once before. I told her that didn't count, then I got yelled at again :grin01:

Great pics and awesome finds. Coachwhips have always been at the top of my wild snake list because of their... moxy. Yeah, moxy is a good word for it! :)

Have you ever been bit by a baby Kenyan? Those teeth are unusually big for such tiny little chub-worms!

Dang those coachwhips are gorgeous! I've only ever seen the tail of one as it raced out of my field of vision.

Indeed that is a desert iguana. So full of cuteness, those things. I've actually seen one jumping (or trying to) to get at the flowers of a plant I'd just planted. Even I can jump better than they can! :p

My favorite non-reptile pic was the one where you were pretending to throw the red dog overboard. That one made me laugh out loud! The dog appeared to appreciate it much less.

Haha yeah she nipped me once too but it still didn't have that true feeling of getting tagged by a decent sized snake to me. But I get ya :spinner:

Yes they are darn fast!! I was lucky this one was in the water swimming so I could pull a Steve Irwin and do a very non eye pleasing swan dive to catch it!

I know seriously, they really are cute lizards!! Very fun to watch!!!

Haha yeah his name is Hurley, he was none too pleased with me for that! Gave me some good stink eye once I put him down and went and sat with his mom :D
