weird symptoms

I have an 8-9 year old corn snake. She hasn't eaten in about 3 months.I feed her large mice and have offered it to her about every 2 weeks. Recently her head and neck is swollen! Sometimes her head is normal. Took her to the vet. He wasn't sure why. He probed her. He said he thought it was just air. Couldn't feel anything. Her mouth looked good. Anybody have idea what's up? I'm really concerned!!!

No ideas, sorry. Do you feel that your vet is experienced with snakes, or would you benefit from finding one that is?

Yeah the vet I went to did not have enough experience. I found a good one this time. Poor wishbone is really sick. Found out for sure it is a male! The inexperienced vet mistook him for a female. I'm giving him injections and oral antibiotics. I'm praying he'll come out okay. I feel badly I didn't get him to the vet sooner! I was stubbornly thinking I could fix him. Wrong! He goes back in 2 weeks.

Is there bleeding from the mouth area or blackness in mouth? I know you said it looks good, but just making sure. Also, pictures would be good. I don't personally have experience with this but one of the forums I have been on have had similar experiences and followed thru it. My advice is find a herp vet but here's two sites that may help with your situation....

I hope this helps at least a little and hope he is okay!!!

Well Wishbone didn't make it. He died this morning. I've had him so long. 9 years from pencil size. I wish I could have gotten him to a more experienced vet sooner. I knew I cared for him but I didn't expect to be so devastated. Sucks!

I am really sorry... 9 years is a long time. Do you mind if I ask what was wrong with Wishbone? I understand if you don't feel like sharing.
Take care.
